INTRODUCTION
I hope youve enjoyed an incredible first half of 2013. I cant help but be optimistic about the next
six months. So far weve had the most successful year for our leading competitions. We crowned
the Sebastian Whats Next Awards winners, were inspired by the students who won Wellas Student
Competition at Americas Beauty Show, and look forward to awarding the Wella North American
Trend Vision winners in just a few weeks. The next 6 months will take us to nearly 10 different
cities across North America.
Our second annual flagship event, Connect, will gather our 500 strong, North American Creative
Force for a week of relevant inspiration filled with sharing, learning and networking. This
incredible week started with the third annual North American Trend Vision Awards, where we
crowned our Gold Award Winners.
In addition, this year we launched Hairdressers at Heart, our effort in elevating the profession
of hairdressing in North America, with support at every stage of the stylists career.
I kindly ask you to dedicate this year to building your profile by attending our shows, Studio
seminars, and by mentoring another stylist to share your technical mastery, business building

HOPE IS IN STYLE
Wella North America and CEO Reuben Carranza are launching the HOPE IS IN STYLE campaign to rally
the hairdressing community in the fight against diabetes. The campaigns purpose is to raise awareness
and support for diabetes research, care and a cure, through a strong, visual identity and united network
of industry leaders and hairdressers. Diabetes affects 1 in every 12 people in the US, including 1 in every
8 in the African American and Latino communities.
Blue is the color of diabetes support and a symbol of hope. Wella has created a unique hairstyle with
a fresh, original hue of blue to be featured across the campaigna unifying message tied back to style.

Last October, 2,000 salon industry professionals gathered to watch 86 stylists and colorists
showcase their passion and talent at the 2012 Wella Professionals International Trend Vision
Awards. One of the largest competitions of its kind, Trend Vision celebrates the skills of
innovative stylists from around the globe who have an instinctive sense of creativity. In the
end, Philip Ferreira representing Canada emerged victorious, taking home the gold in the
prestigious Color Category.
This was the most incredible experience, said Ferreira of winning. To be in the presence
of talent like Eugene Souleiman and Josh Wood. I can only hope to inspire young stylists to
compete in this incredible competition as they have for me. What a journey its been; now
another is just beginning.

Sassoon realizes that not everyone can get to a dedicated Academy with the frequency
that they would like, so they will travel to you! In-salon seminars are suited to small
audiences and can last from one to five days, depending on the depth or level of
education required. The environment allows for a high degree of detailed instruction,
where every day begins with a demonstration, and the afternoons are devoted to
hands-on learning.
The optional addition of presentation models provides impact in illustrating the
demonstration. The in-salon seminar format can be delivered in an alternative venue,
should your salon not be spacious enough.
