Dear Friends,
The European Association of Jewish Community Centers - an historic first conference!
We welcome you to the 1st European Conference of Jewish Community Centers - a three-day conference of Senior Lay
Leaders, Executive Directors of JCCs and directors of programs (youth, cultural arts, adults, children etc.) in order to
continue implementing our vision and strengthening our network. Initiated by the American Jewish Joint Distribution
Committee AJJDC, the European Association of Jewish Community Centers EAJCC, the European Council of Jewish
Communities ECJC, the Fonds Social Juif Unifi FSJU and the World Confederation of Jewish Community Centers
WCJCC, the conference will focus on:
NEW MODELS OF JEWISH COMMUNITY CENTERS
IN THE 21ST CENTURY: ADDRESSING CHANGING NEEDS
In plenary sessions, workshops and site visits participants from all over Europe, Israel and the rest of the Jewish World will
share their expertise and experiences.
Some of the main issues to be discussed are:
European Jews in Todays World: An Approach to the Current Context
Judaism and our Times: Old Traditions, New Forms
Connecting Jews via our JCCs
Workshops will cover a wide variety of topics from Family Jewish Education, Cultural Arts, Adult Education and Marketing
to Jewish Education in the JCC, Lay Leadership Development, Cyber JCCs, Regional Collaborations and more.
Enjoying what Paris has to offer, the Conference will open at the Mayor'
s office and will take place at the JCC of Paris,
enabling visitors to see first hand the wide variety of programs taking place in the Jewish Community Center of Paris.
