Op7

Your OP7's program is erased- you must reload the application to the OP7.
You have just put the operator panel in 'Ready to transfer' mode. If you have deleted something in the panel you
will either need the source file from Protool or the Memory Card. Try to switch the power off/on and it will
normally help!
You need to reload the program on the OP 7. You must be having the backup somewhere. You need SIMATIC
ProTool software on a computer. Then use the required cable (SIEMENS 6XV1440 3KH32) to connect between
the PC and the OP7.Run Protool. Open the Project i.e. your backup program. Connect the cable between the PC
and the OP 7. Download the project.
If you cannot do it yourself you can contact your local SIEMENS agent. They normally have Technical support.
If you need further details , you can contact me.

Hi,
ive got an OP7 (new) and I want to transfer the program files from the old one to my PC. Then I want to copy
the files from PC to the new OP7. I got proTool but maybe not the correct cable. The cable which is needed to
use the software for my intention is it a normal one on one cable??? Or... Plz can you help me???
Guest,
This is what has worked for me...
To get the configuration from this device to a pc:
1) Configure a cable with a DB9 female and a DB15 male
DB 15 (OP7 side) DB9(PC side)
3------------------------------->3
4------------------------------->2
12------------------------------>5
->1
|
->6
|
->4
->7
|
->8
(if this gets scrambled because of email, the pins are (DB15 male on OP
side) 3,4,12 to (DB9 Female on PC side) 3,2,5 with PC side 1 to 6 to 4
shorted and 7 to 8 shorted, you can also look up Siemens help entry
id:37191)
2) On a PC with Simatic ProTool Pro CS, navigate to
C:\siemens\Protool\utility and run "prosave.exe" (this is assuming default
installation path)
Each time i tried the above process it resulted in a "protocol error". Tried multiple cables and baud rates w/o
success. Any ideas?
To aboard the transfer mode you have to press the "ESC" key or switch the power off and on.
The OP should start the loaded project after that. If not, you have to load the project again.
It is not possible to delete the project by pressing the keys of the OP.
If you have deleted the Program in the OP7, You have a couple of options:
1. reload the Protool file using Protool and the download cable
2. If you backup using Prosave, restore the backup again using the download cable and Prosave utility.
when such msg appears, it is because the program is lost and requires downloading again.
It seems there is no program in OP7 memory. If there was, it would probably start automatically. My guess is for
some reason the memory has reset. If there is a backup of HMI application available, downloading it again to panel
will probably help (if the panel is still functioning).
Ready to transfer is equal to You have deleted the program,and I am in standby for the new program. Basically you
need to reload the program. They call this recommissioning. It is a result of an operator pressing the escape,right
arrow, and down arrow at the same time at start up. You will need a computer with protool a cable and the original
program.
