The reception of the admissions application form does not imply the acceptance of the student into The Columbus School academic program.
The acceptance of the student will be determined by the Admissions Committee once the process of admission is finalized. The parents of the
applicant wil receive a written communication. ALL ADMISSIONS WILL BE SUBJECT TO THE AVAILABILITY OF PLACES.

Admissions process for new families that want to be part of The

Columbus School. The collection of information is made up of two parts:
Physical and digital. Following is the process and its components:
1. Digital documents:
These documents must be sent by email to erojas@columbus.edu.co
or vrestrepo@columbus.edu.co in PDF format.
Please label your files the following way: LAST NAME-FAMILY NAME
(Of the aspirant),FULL NAME (Of the aspirant)_NAME OF THE
DOCUMENT YOU ARE SENDING
Example: WALSH, STEVEN_FATHER EMPLOYMENT CERTIFICATION
Documents that must be sent in PDF format (please send all the PDF
files attached in the same email):
Admissions format completely filled out and signed.
a. Employment certification for the parents specifying time of work
b. and position, WITHOUT SPECIFYING SALARY. If the parents are
independent, they must send a current Chamber of Commerce
certification or an updated Accountant certification.
Deposit slip for $150.000 COP in Bancolombia in a RECAUDOS
c. format deposited in checking account 00290282909. In the
reference field it is necessary to write the father's identification
number and the name of the aspiring student. Alumni do not pay.
Health Format completely filled out by the parents.
d. Counseling Format completely filled out by the parents.
e. Copy of the fathers and mothers or tutors identification card. If

Good standing certificate from the child care center (If

Foreign aspirants must certify a current student visa at the time of

2. Physical documents, personally delivered in the Admissions
Office:

a. Photocopy of the aspirants birth certificate.
b. Three (3) recommendation letters.

When asking for recommendation letters keep in mind:
Families whose children are currently attending The Columbus
i. School, alumni or alumni parents may write recommendation
letters.
Employees, Board members or spouses of employees may not
ii. write recommendation letters.
There cannot be any kinship between the aspirants family and
iii.the person writing the recommendation letter, nor any kinship
between the people who are writing the recommendation letters.
The recommendation letters must be brought personally to the
v. Admissions Office by the people writing them.

Proceso de admisin para familias nuevas que quieren pertenecer a The

Columbus School. La recoleccin de informacin para el proceso se
compone de dos partes: una fsica y otra digital. A continuacin les
explicamos el proceso y sus componentes:
1. Documentos digitales:
Estos documentos debern ser enviados a los correos

Por favor nombre los archivos de la siguiente manera: PRIMER APELLIDO
(Del aspirante), SEGUNDO APELLIDO (Del aspirante) NOMBRE (Del

Ejemplo: RAMREZ RESTREPO, MARIA JOS_CARTA LABORAL PADRE
Documentos que deben ser enviados de forma digital en formato PDF
(por favor enviar todos los archivos PDF adjuntos en un solo correo
electrnico):
a. Formulario de admisiones diligenciado completamente y con firmas.
b. Registro civil de nacimiento del aspirante.
c. Carta laboral de los padres especificando cargo y antigedad, SIN
ESPECIFICAR SALARIO. Si los padres del aspirante son independientes,
debern enviar el certificado de la Cmara de Comercio vigente, o
certificado actualizado del Contador.
d. Comprobante de pago por $150.000 COP en Bancolombia, formato
recaudos en la cuenta corriente 00290282909. En el campo de
referencia es indispensable escribir la cdula del padre y el nombre del
estudiante aspirante. Los egresados de The Columbus School no
pagan.
e. Formato de Salud con informacin del aspirante completamente
diligenciado por los padres.
f. Formato de Consejera con informacin del aspirante completamente
diligenciado por los padres.
g. Copia del documento de identidad del padre y de la madre o tutor
legal del aspirante. Si la familia es extranjera, deben anexar copias de
los pasaportes.
h. Paz y salvo del jardn infantil (Si aplica).
i. Para aspirantes extranjeros debern certificar visa de estudiante
vigente al momento de ingreso.
2. Documentos fsicos, entregados personalmente en la Oficina de
Admisiones:
a. Formulario de admisiones completamente diligenciado y firmado.
b. Fotocopia del registro civil de nacimiento del aspirante.
c. Tres (3) cartas de recomendacin.
Al momento de solicitar cartas de recomendacin, tenga en cuenta lo
siguiente:
i. Pueden ser familias con hijos que actualmente estn estudiando en el
Colegio, exalumnos del Colegio o padres de exalumnos del Colegio.
ii. No pueden ser empleados, miembros de la Junta Directiva, o
cnyuges de empleados.
iii. No debe existir parentesco entre la familia del aspirante y quien
entrega la referencia, ni parentesco entre las tres personas que ofrecen
referencia.
v. Las cartas de recomendacin deben ser tradas personalmente a la
Oficina de Admisiones por las personas que recomiendan a las familias
aspirantes.

The admissions process will begin the moment the family delivers
the totality of the required documents. The process may last up to six
(6) school months. There will be an interview for the parents,
scheduled with a Psychologist, as well as a home visit. Once all the
information is processed, the Admissions Committee will evaluate
all candidates. Later on, aspiring families will receive a written or
email communication notifying them of the decision made by the
Committee.

El proceso de admisin comenzar en el momento en que la familia

entrega la totalidad de los documentos requeridos y podr tardar hasta
seis (6) meses escolares. Se programar una entrevista para ambos
padres con una psicloga, as como una visita domiciliaria. Una vez toda
la informacin sea procesada, el Comit de Admisiones evaluar los
candidatos, y posteriormente las familias aspirantes recibirn una
notificacin por escrito o por correo electrnico, de la decisin tomada
por el Comit.

NOTE:
Admissions formats will not be accepted if they do not comply with
both physical and digital requirements. Letters of recommendation
must be delivered around the dates when the entire documentation
needs to be handed in.

NOTA:
No se recibirn formularios de admisiones si no cumple con los requisitos
digitales y fsicos de entrega. Las cartas de recomendacin deben ser
entregadas en las fechas prximas a la entrega de la documentacin
necesaria.

8. ADMISSIONS PHILOSOPHY AGREEMENT/ ACEPTACIN DE LA FILOSOFA DE ADMISIONES

1. The Admissions Committee will study all paid applications that
have submitted all the required documents. Admissions
applications that have not been paid or that have not submitted the
entirety of documents will not be considered.
2. The Admissions Committee will procure to accept all those
admissions applications that comply with the Admissions
Philosophy, posted on The Columbus School website. Despite of the
above, and as indicated in the Admissions Philosophy, and taking
into account the availability of space, not all applications will be
accepted, including those that comply with all requirements
established in the Admissions Philosophy. All applications without
exception will be subject to availability of space.
3. The Columbus School Admissions Committee, being a private
education institution, reserves the right of admitting students and is
not obligated to support its decision to the aspiring student, his/her
parents, his/her tutors or third parties.

1. El Comit de Admisiones estudiar todas las solicitudes de admisin

que hayan cancelado el valor de la solicitud de admisin y que estn
acompaadas de toda la documentacin requerida. Las solicitudes de
admisin que no hayan sido pagadas o cuya documentacin no est
completa, no sern estudiadas.
2. El Comit de Admisiones procurar aceptar todas aquellas solicitudes
de admisin que cumplan con la Filosofa de Admisiones, la cual est a
disposicin de los padres del aspirante en la pgina web del Colegio. No
obstante lo anterior, y tal como se indica en la Filosofa de Admisiones, en
razn a la disponibilidad de cupos, no todas las solicitudes de admisin
podrn ser aceptadas, incluso aquellas que cumplan con todos los
requisitos establecidos en las Filosofa de Admisiones. Todas las
admisiones sin excepcin estarn sujetas a la disponibilidad de cupo.
3. El Comit de Admisiones del Colegio, como institucin educativa
privada, se reserva el derecho de admisin de estudiantes, por lo cual no
se encuentra obligado a sustentar su decisin ante el aspirante, sus
padres, acudientes o terceros.

4. By submitting this admissions application, the aspirants, parents

or tutors, will refrain from contacting through any means, any school
personnel (Directives or Administrative) in relation to the
aforementioned process. Any action against this obligation, will
negatively affect the study of the admissions application by the
Admissions Committee.

padres o acudientes, se obligan a que durante el proceso de estudio de la
solicitud de admisin, no contactarn por ningn medio, a personal
directivo o administrativo del Colegio, en relacin con el mencionado
