Referees Information Sheet

Note to Referee
You have been nominated as a referee by a candidate who is applying for one or more of the following
scholarships NUS Scholarships (comprise the NUS Global Merit Scholarship and NUS Merit Scholarship)
NUS Sports Scholarship
NUS Performing & Visual Arts Scholarship
These scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate outstanding intellect, strong leadership
potential, sound character and a passion for innovation and creativity. Recipients of these scholarships
will receive varying terms and benefits including coverage of tuition fees, living and accommodation
allowances. No bond is attached to these scholarships. As such, the recipients can contribute to any
field of their choice after completing their undergraduate studies at NUS.
We would appreciate your online submission of the confidential report on the candidate with regards to
his/her scholarship application. The referee report is to be submitted at
http://www.nus.edu.sg/oam/docs/Scholarship_Referee_Report.html, by the scholarship application
closing date, 1 April 2016.
The candidate may log in to the NUS online application status facility to check the status of the referee
report. The status will be updated between 5 to 7 working days from the date of your submission.

Before You Start

You will need the below information from the applicant before you are able to submit a report.
1. Full Name (As Per NRIC)
2. NRIC Number
3. NUS Application Number
(a 8 digit number given to the applicant after he/she has applied for undergraduate admissions
to NUS)

Submission
Please note that you have to complete and submit the report in one sitting, as the report cannot be saved
before submission. Please ensure that all the information is correct before submitting, as you will not be
able to edit the report after submission.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. How will the applicant know that NUS has received my submission of the referee report?
Applicant may log in to the Online Application Status Facility
(https://myaces.nus.edu.sg/uasonline2/scholarships/Login.do) to check the status of the referee
report. The status will be updated between 5 to 7 working days from the date of your submission.
2. I am nominated as a referee by a few applicants, will this be a problem?
No. You may submit referee reports for multiple applicants.
3. Is there a word limit for open-ended questions?
No. However, you should keep to the space provided in the online form.
4. Why does NUS need my official work email address?
NUS is requesting for the referees official work email address, in order to better verify the identities
and designations of the referees.
5. How do I edit my report for an applicant after I have already submitted it? I have missed out
something really important.
No amendments can be made after submission of the referee report.
