Product Overview
In GSM networks which support Mobile Number
Portability, a new Subscriber Identity Module (SIM)
and a new International Mobile Subscriber Identity
(IMSI) are supplied to subscribers when they
change network operator.
However the original Mobile Station Integrated
Services Digital Network number (MSISDN) is
retained.

One-MNP is a next generation server based MNP

implementation offering high performance, massively
scalable and flexible SS7 message relaying and routing
capability and number ported status lookup function
in a GSM network.
It provides relaying for both call related and non-call
related signalling, and can support either the direct
routing or indirect routing conventions defined in the
3GPP 23.066 standard.

Number range support

One-MNP supports the capability to identify complete

ranges of numbers that have been ported. One-MNP
implements a "best matching" algorithm to identify the
most applicable routing options for each received
number. In this way it is not only possible to identify an
entire range of numbers that have been ported to a
particular operator, but also to specify, for example,
particular subscriber numbers within this range that have
been ported elsewhere.
This feature is useful for networks with unusual

central entity to host the MNP data for

multiple PLMNS in one single One-NDS
instance. This is advantageous in a situation
where a central operator with several PLMNs
(OPCOs) in a large geography such as in
different countries would like a central data
repository in one place yet still offer and
manage each country or PLMN independent
of each other.

One-MNP Highlights
Standards compliant
One-MNP complies fully with 3GPP TS 23.066 and
provides both IN based and Signalling Relay
Function (SRF) MNP options.
High performance, low footprint
Due to the use of the One-NDS subscriber
database and up-to-date x86 Blade servers
combined with real time software engineering
techniques, each One-MNP node can handle
thousands of routing queries per second.
Flexible configurations

Open provisioning interface

One-MNP supports provisioning over SPML in a
distributed configuration on One-NDS. With standards
based interfaces, integration to operators BSS
systems for provisioning device data and status is
made easier compared to legacy proprietary
interfaces.
Highly scalable, resilient solution
One-MNP is flexibly delivered as a dataless front end
connected to One-NDS database that provides high
performance, fault tolerance and geographical
resilience.

One-MNP is delivered in various configurations; it

scales from small One-MNP configuration to larger
distributed multi-application environments,
whereby the data is hosted external to the
application on Nokia Solutions and Networks
industry- leading One-NDS database.
