Thetopicofdryorgasmsandmultipleorgasmsformencameuprecently,andsinceI'velearnedabit
abouthowallofthisworksinthelasttwoandhalfyears,IthoughI'dshareanupdatewithyouthatadds
abitofdepthandbackgroundtothepostsalreadyintheblog.
Themaleorgasmwasoriginallydividedbyresearchersintotwophases.They'vesincelearnedthat
thosearereallythemiddlepartoftheprocess,butoldhabitsdiehard,sothenumberingofthephases
isalittlepeculiar.Sohereweare:
Preparation:Bloodflowincreasesnotjusttothepenis,butalsototissuesinthesurroundingareain
thescrotumandlowerpelvis,creatingincreasedcongestionandsensitivitytotouch.Thebrainareas
responsiblefororgasmandejaculationaccumulatehigherandhigherlevelsofneurotransmitterslike
dopamineandoxytocin.
PhaseZeroInitiation:Aftersufficientarousal,thebrainsignalstheadrenalstoreleaseaspikeof
adrenaline(epinephrine)inthebrainandthebody,raisingbloodpressure,pulse,andrespiration,
blockingpainandfatigue,andincreasingmuscularstrength.Theforebrainbeginstoshutdownits
monitoringofanythingnotconnectedwiththeimpendingorgasm.Theorgasmbegins.OnanEEG,it
lookslikeanelectricalstormorepilepticfitbeginstosweepoverthebrainfromfronttoback.This
continuesthroughthenexttwophases.
PhaseOneEmission:Asignalissenttoalloftheglandsinvolvedintheejaculationprocess.The
sphincterbetweenthebladderandtheprostateclosestightsosemencannotgobackwardintothe
bladder.Thesperm,seminalfluid,andotheringredientsthatconstitutesemenareinjectedintothe
upperendoftheurethrafromthevasdeferens,seminalvesicles,prostate,andseveralotherglands.
Thepituitaryglandatthebaseofthebrainalsoreleasesajoltofprolactinintotheblood.Themanis
nowawarethattheorgasmhasstartedandfeelshehaspassedthePointofNoReturn.
PhaseTwoEjaculation:Startingabout12secondsafterthesignaltotheglands,aseparatesignal
issenttonodesinthespine,whichsendasetofrepeatedsignalstothemusclesthatsurroundthe
urethraallthewayfromtheprostateatthebaseofthebladderdowntothebaseofthepenisandupthe
penileshaft.Thesemusclescontractstronglyinsequence,expellingthesemenfromthetipofthe
penis.Othermusclesinthepelvicfloorcontracttoo,tighteningtheanalsphinctersandoftenmakingthe
penisjerk.Thisseriesofcontractionsgenerallyoccurs1015times,althoughinsomecasesitmaybe
lessormore.Themanisusuallyawareofonlyabouthalfofthemunlesshehastrainedhimselftonotice
them.
Aftermath:TheelectricalstormthatstartedinPhaseZerolastsabout20seconds,continuing
throughoutPhasesOneandTwoandtriggeringthereleaseofasurgeofdopamineandother
transmittersinthenucleusaccumbensandotherpartsofthelimbicsysteminvolvedinpleasureand
reward.Meanwhile,thespikeofprolactindumpedintothebloodstreaminPhaseOnecirculatesthrough
thebodyandreachesthegroinaboutaminuteafterrelease,negatingthechemicalsthatcausedthe
arteriesinthatareatoexpand.Asthearteriesinthepeniscontract,bloodflowtothepenisis
substantiallyreduced,andtheerectionbecomessoft.Alargejoltofprolactincanalsocausesleepiness.

WhyKegelsWorktoCreateDryOrgasms
Whatisfascinatingaboutthisisthatwewouldexpectthestepstobelockedtogetherinaverytight
sequence,buttheyaren't.Althoughthethreephasesnormallystartinrapidsuccession,thisdoesn't
alwayshappen.Ifpartoftheprocessisinterrupted,therestcanstillgoaheadindependently,pretty
muchonschedule.
Forexample,itispossibletohaveemissionandejaculationwithoutthepleasurablepartoftheorgasm
(anhedonicejaculation).Semenspurtsoutwithoutanyfeelingofpleasure.Anditispossibletohave
emissionwithoutorgasmorejaculation(a"ruined"orgasm),wherethesemenjustdribblesout
afterward.
Finally,andimportantlyforourdiscussion,itisalsopossibletohaveatrueorgasminthebrain,along
withtheEjaculationPhase,whilecompletelyskippingtheEmissionPhase.Thisiscalleda"dry"orgasm
or"shootingblanks,"becausethecontractionsoccur,butthere'snosemenintheurethra,soofcourse
nothingisexpelled.(Actually,it'scommonforsmallamountsofsementohaveleakedintotheurethra
andtobeexpelled,so"dry"maynotmeancompletelydry.)
Twoimportantpoints.First,thisisexactlywhathappensautomaticallyforboyswhomasturbatebefore
theyareoldenoughtoproducesemen.TheygostraightfromPhaseZerotoPhaseTwo,skipping
PhaseOne.Asaresult,theyhavedryorgasmswithoutanyemissions.
Second,it'sPhaseOnethattriggersthereleaseofprolactininthebloodstream,killingyourerectionand
maybemakingyousleepyafteranorgasm.IfyouskipfromPhaseZerotoPhaseTwo,there'sno
EmissionsPhase,andthatmeansthere'snoprolactin,nolossoferection,norefractoryperiod,andno
