Naming Blitzes:
Use Words with the Letters of the Player and the Gap they are going to. For example:
MASH- Mike to A Gap, STICK-Sam to C, WACO-Will to C.

Footwork Drills:

3. Back Peddle- Key the QB for the Run/Pass Read, Don’t back straight
up, Weave Him.
4. Flip and Go-Transition from Back Peddle to Sprint ( If Possible, put
them in pens)
5. Flip and Go Speed Turn

Contact Drill:
1. Use a sled-Get Hand Separation
2. Sprint and Come to Balance-Sprint, then come under control and take
on block or tackle.
General Thoughts:
Teach Safeties like LBs-read the flow

Motion-Work on Motion in Practice
Teach the Pass Rush-If you blitz your DBs
Fumble Drill- 3guys-1 pick up the ball, 2 guys block.

General Thoughts:
QB is a distributor.
Have to be able to play catch.
QB is 6 ½ yards deep.
RB is the same depth at QB, but over the Tackles.
OL Splits- Between Center and Guard-2 & 3 feet, Between Guard and Tackle 3 & 4 feet.

5. Sugar-Trying to kill the clock; snap with under 5 seconds on play clock. OL with
be with the QB, he will send them to the line.
3 Principles:
1. Uncovered-Throw to the Uncovered WR-Signal between the QB and WR.
2. Hitch Rule-Can throw the hitch anytime.
3. Have to be able to throw the Bubble. (Thrown 6-8 times a game.)
