The Present issue; Is Grace Poe a Natural born Citizen of the Philippines?

and what are

the basis of the Supreme Courts decision in allowing her to run for the Position of
President of the Philippines?

I. INTRODUCTION
Before we jump into the main issue, allow me to lay down some legal references to guide
us and could be able to lead you what I am really pointing out in my paper., some are my
own humble thoughts and opinion some were lifted up to other authorized persons
opinion.
Article 1V , CITIZENSHIP
Section 1. The following are citizens of the Philippines:
[1] Those who are citizens of the Philippines at the time of the adoption of this
Constitution;
[2] Those whose fathers or mothers are citizens of the Philippines;
[3] Those born before January 17, 1973, of Filipino mothers, who elect Philippine
citizenship upon reaching the age of majority; and
[4] Those who are naturalized in accordance with law.

What is a Natural Born Citizen? According to the 1987 Philippine Constitution Article
1V section 2 in connection with some of the sections in Citizenship , Section 2. Naturalborn citizens are those who are citizens of the Philippines from birth without having to
perform any act to acquire or perfect their Philippine citizenship. Those who elect
Philippine citizenship in accordance with paragraph (3), Section 1 hereof shall be
deemed natural-born citizens.
Section 3. Philippine citizenship may be lost or reacquired in the manner provided by
law.
Section 4. Citizens of the Philippines who marry aliens shall retain their citizenship,
unless by their act or omission, they are deemed, under the law, to have renounced it.

ARTICLE VII

EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENT
Section 1. The executive power shall be vested in the President of the Philippines.
Section 2. No person may be elected President unless he is a natural-born citizen of the
Philippines, a registered voter, able to read and write, at least forty years of age on the
day of the election, and a resident of the Philippines for at least ten years immediately
preceding such election.
There you go, well, Senator Grace Poe has been talked about as one of the candidates for
the elective post of President of the Republic of the Philippines in the national elections
of 2016. But before that, all thing happened this way, let us begin on how a lot of
questions have been raised about her qualifications to run for that said position, in respect
to her citizenship and residency. Many People were questioning, if she is really qualified
to run for the position of President, other people , well, believes that she is a natural born
citizen and Yes, she is qualified, but the rest of the people, seems like they do not care at
all.
why is it a big issue to us Filipino people the so called citizenship of Senator Grace Poe?
especially to the our countrymen who are not engaged in politics or let us say those who
will not be affected by Grace Poe if she will run for the position of President, anyway
they will not be her opponent and Grace Poe will not be a treat to them , admit it, we
should not care about it.

But why should we need to be part of it? Why is it very Important to us although we will
not run also for the said position, or even that we are not the constituent or supporters of
her opponents? and well then why should we need to be engage on that issue?

First , let us answer the question, who are we? Isnt it we are Filipino? Second What
Grace Poe is running for? Isnt it to be the President of the Philippines, that also our
country?

Admit it some Filipino people do not want sometimes to be ruined by aliens, that is why
way back in our history, our heroes sacrifices there own lives to fight for freedom to aim
Independence against the colonized for our country for the future of our countrymen,
added like , sometimes we are also greedy in some ways, we do not want aliens to be part
of our industries, economics or even way of living , as if that we really can handle our
own selves without the help of other foreign countries, anyway, these is us, in due respect
to our heroes? We are trying ourselves to be Independent. Maybe these is also the reason
why one of the qualification to run for the position of President is indeed a Natural Born
Citizen of the country, not just because in order that the said Person who aim for that
position are duly vested and in plant in there hearts the true Filipino culture and tradition,
by staying here in the country and never take away in chances there citizenship but
also ,maybe because we do not want another Foreigner to be our Leader agin, and the
Filipino people will be again the puppet of those aliens.
So let us go back to the issue, Is Senator Grace Poe a Natural-born Citizen of the
Philippines? I lay down to you a digested case of Grace Poe and a dissenting opinion and
concurring opinion of some of the Justices.1
