Rawal Institute of Health Sciences (RIHS) is a Private Limited company registered under Section 32 of the
Companies Ordinance, 1984, bearing Corporate Universal Identification No.0075266. The RIHS
facilities (College & Hospital) are set up on a plot of land owned by the institution having a covered area
of 150,000 Sq ft at present, expandable to another 90,000 Sq ft in the coming years.

LOCATION RIHS is located on Lehtrar Road a kilometer from Khanna Bridge that is situated on the
Islamabad Expressway15 minutes drive from Islamabad airport and Faizabad Bus stand (Location map).

The RIHS, College of Medicine and Hospital building is purpose built as per guidelines provided by
Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC). The hospital has a capacity of 250 beds at present which
will be a 500 bedded hospital in near future with a modern and comprehensive diagnostic center. It will
not only meet the teaching requirements but will also provide the requisite free services for the poor and
marginalized people of the area. The objective of MBBS program will be to produce outstanding
physicians and surgeons who are committed to alleviate human ailments and are likely to become
leaders in the medical field. The competency of RIHS students will be reflected through their utility in improving health care by implementing evidence based practice.

any way, or whose authentication is doubtful, will be struck off from the college roll, even if the candidate has
been admitted. A student can be removed from the college by the Principal / Dean at any time during the
course of his / her study, if incorrect or wrong information has been submitted by such a candidate / parents/
guardian, at the time of admission. No show cause notice will be necessary for any action under this rule of
admission of Rawal Institute of Health Sciences. The candidate who fails to report for interview / admission on
the prescribed date shall be considered to have forfeited his / her chance of admission in Rawal Institute of
Health Sciences.

Eligibility And Rules For Examination And Assessment


A student shall be eligible to appear in a professional examination if he/she
fulfils the following conditions
1. Has undergone the specified period of theoretical and practical courses and clinical training including
demonstrations for the said examination to the satisfaction of the Department concerned.
2. No students will be eligible for university examination without having attended 75% of the total of
lectures, demonstrations, tutorials and practical or clinical work both in-patients and out-patients of the
whole academic year of the class, separately.
3. Has passed all the medical subjects of the previous examination.
4. Has satisfactorily undergone the prescribed courses in theory, practical and clinical work extending over
a period of three years after passing first professional MBBS examination before appearing in Final
Professional exam.
5. Has his/her name submitted to the Controller of examination by the Principal on clearance by the Head
of Department/teacher concerned.
6. Has paid the requisite fees for the examination to RIHS and cleared all the college/hostel dues.
7. The minimum passing marks in each subject shall be 50% in the theory and practical examination
separately. A student who fails in theory or in Practical examination of a subject shall be considered to
have failed in full subjects, both theory and practical.
8. Any student who fails/ is detained in a professional examination (including part-I and II of 1st Professional
Examination), both in annual and supplementary examination in any subject shall not be promoted to
the next higher class. He/she shall undergo the course of studies in the subject(s) in which he/she failed/
detained. There will be no provisional promotion in such cases.
9. A student, who fails in one or more subjects, shall re-appear in the subjects in which he/she has failed.

10. A student who re-appears in any professional examination shall pay requisite fee for the examination.
11. A student who is eligible to appear in the examination but did not take examination for whatever reason
shall be considered to have failed.
12. Only two examinations, one Annual and one Supplementary are allowed in one academic year. No third
or extra supplementary examination is permitted.
13. A student who has passed his/her final MBBS examination shall be entitled to the degree of Bachelor
of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University provided he/she has conformed to the
requirements of PM&DC and Bahria University which may be enforced from time to time.
14. Any student who fails to clear the 1st Professional MBBS Part-1 examination in four chances availed or
un-availed after becoming eligible for the examination shall cease to become eligible for further medical
education in Pakistan. Ineligibility due to shortage of attendance shall not affect the application of this
clause.

16. A student who fails in any subject(s) will not be promoted to the next higher class and shall be required

17. A student who discontinued his/her studies for a period of five years he/she will not be allowed for
readmission in the college. As the validity for any examination at international level is three years he/she
has to retake the last professional examination. However during the absence period he has to fulfill the
requirements of training of those years in which he/she left the class.

College Disciplinary Rules


In consideration of my admission for studies at the Rawal Institute of Health Sciences, Islamabad, I
hereby agree and undertake to conform to the rules and regulations which are or may be formed from
time to time or be adopted by the management and further that, during my association with the
college and hospital, I will not allow my name to be used for any political activity.
I agree to attend the college and hospital regularly and to pursue and special course in the curriculum
which may be altered from time to time by college / university / PM&DC.

College Disciplinary Rules


1. The Following declaration on the form of an affidavit must be signed before admission by the students
and center signed by the parent / guardian.
2. Every student is required to attend punctually the required hours notified for course and practical
classes. He / She must have 75% of total attendance in an academic year to be eligible to appear in
the university examination.
3. Student are required to obey orders and maintain discipline at all time in the college and the hostel or
during any other activity arranged / conducted by the Institution.
4. No game of any sort is to be played during the college and hospital working hours.
5. Display and distribution of political partys pamphlets or circulars etc in the college and hospital premises
are strictly prohibited.
6. In case of irregularities, neglect of duties and breach of discipline if he brought to the notice of the principal by the class teacher / any teachers / proctor / chief proctor, he / she can be punished monetarily.
7. Application for leave of absence from the college must be submitted to the principal in writing through
class teacher / professor / Head of Department.
8. In all cases, the leave taken will be t the students own risk as far as the percentage of attendance is
concerned and even a medical certificate will not condone a deficiency in attendance.
9. A student who is absent without leave, continuously for a period of two weeks will b struck off from the
