Challenges
On the shores of Sierra Leone, lies the city Freetown, between the Bunce and Banana Islands
populating roughly 1 million residents and growing. Freetown's suburbs stretch
along the Atlantic coast, forming a wide array of dense residential houses. This, being
one of the most problematic issues for a Wireless deployment to deal with as some 'free space'
is required to bounce the electro-magnetic waves from the ground and back to the air.
Design Guidelines
To solve all these problems elegantly, in the most suitable way we have layed out
several mile-stones for building the network infrastructure.
We have chosen to use a Self-Install CPE-based Wireless infrastructure for customer's links, and a
Satellite link for the back-bone of the ISP.
The Wireless setup will consist of 6 sites Site 100, being the base-station site,
200 and 300 at first deployment, and following are sites 400, 500 and 600.
