Success Story

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
CUSTOMER NAME
- PCSH Telco Operations
NETWORK SOLUTION
- Wireless Internet/Data
- Wireless VOIP Class-5
CHALLENGES
- Dense Residential
- Mountains Terrain
- Un-Relaiable Power Grid
- Lack of Land Infrastructure

In The City of Freetown, Sierra Leone, located in the west

bank of Africa a requirement was to be met a complete
Wireless Internet Services Provider [WISP] solution to
provide the residents of the city, government offices, and
Internet coffee shops fast and reliable Internet services.
Network Solution
The solution would consist of an always-on Internet data
services for customers in a variety of speeds, an IP
Telephony System with advanced Class-5
Features. Mailing system and basic ISP Components
like Billing, CRM, ERP,NMS and a NOC System.

Challenges
On the shores of Sierra Leone, lies the city Freetown, between the Bunce and Banana Islands
populating roughly 1 million residents and growing. Freetown's suburbs stretch
along the Atlantic coast, forming a wide array of dense residential houses. This, being
one of the most problematic issues for a Wireless deployment to deal with as some 'free space'
is required to bounce the electro-magnetic waves from the ground and back to the air.

The port city is mountain-rich. From river

to river, mountains are part of
Freetown's incredible landscape and yet,
form another problem for a proper
deployment of Wireless infrastructure
within the city limits. If this is not enough,
the area suffers from heavy rain
conditions, an un-reliable power system
which provides -48VDC Power Grid, a
land territory which doesn't provide almost
entirely a Line-Of-Sight or Near-Line-OfSight visibility, no previous land
infrastructure (no ADSL and no Cables)
and no land link for a back-bone.
