Make sure your Wireless option is enabled (usually a toggle key on the notebook)
Click on the Network (LAN or wireless) Icon.

You should see a SSID with the name NWUWIFI in the connectivity list. Click Open Network and Sharing
Center.
Fill in the network name exactly as: NWUWIFI. The Security key is WPA2-Enterprise. Click Next.
Click the Security tab and then make sure the settings are as follows. Click Advanced Settings.
Click Settings.
Untick/Tick the checkboxes as shown (Validate server certificate must NOT be ticked).
The Authentication Method is EAP-MSCHAP v2.
Click Configure and untick the option as shown. Click OK on all Windows when done - in order to close
them.
Clicking on the network System tray icon will show that Windows will automatically try and connect to
NWUWIFI.
After a few seconds a popup will appear. Click this to open the Network Authentication Window.
Open a Browser and go to http://www.nwu.ac.za. The URL will be redirected and the following will
momentarily be displayed.
The following will then appear if this is your first connection attempt. Click Agree to continue.
Again provide your University Number, your Password and then Click to Continue.

Click OK when prompted and close and re-open your Browser as requested.

Click the Click to Continue button to download and to save and install the Persistent Network Agent:
Always Save to your disk first. (Save to the Desktop for simplicity as shown in following slides).

And then this we be displayed. If your Mcafee is broken/not up to date the Browser will go to this page ( if
not, close and re-open your Browser ). Click on NWU Persistent Security Policy link again:

After clicking on NWU Persistent Security Policy you will see which required products are not compliant:

Always click the top link and then save the installer that is provided.
Save to the Desktop for simplicity sake. Open Windows Explorer and run the installation file.
The following security warning may appear:
Click Allow to continue and accept any other UAC/Security prompts that may require approval to continue
with the installation. Always follow the instructions in the dos window provided by the installer. Click the
Rescan button in (or close/open) the Browser again. In case of Security Essentials the following appears.

Note: If for any reason the web pages are inaccessible, do the following: Go to the Internet Explorer Tools
menu and click Internet Options and Advanced and then click the Reset... button in the botton part
(under Reset Internet Explorer settings.)
Restart Internet Explorer to finish. Go through the prompts to reset Internet Explorer settings:
