Only one conductor shall be connected to each
terminal of a terminal block/row for external
connections. This is not related to terminals
approved for two conductors for internal
components (e.g relays, contactors)
Note 5 Two conductors may in certain cases be
used in one approved type ferrule connected to
one terminal
Claification
1. Only one conductor shall be connected to each terminal.
2. If the terminal is designed as suitable for two conductor, two conductor can be
terminated
to on terminal under owner's confirmation case by case.
3. Approved type ferrule for two conductors can be applied.

Use of yellow/green terminal blocks for
PE?
Yellow/green terminal block give ''serial earth'
with different kind of materials, contact
surface and fixing points. It will be an
extensive works to verify the quality of such
"connections".
DSB will therefore not accept them being used
Claification
1. In case of metal enclosure, PE ternimal block will be connected to metal encloure by
using addtional
earth cable and each PE terminal blcok will be connected by common bar
2. In case of plastic enclosure, PE terminal block will be connected by common
bar without earth cable to plastic enclosure.

Claification
1. Non-armored cable with metal flexible hose can not be accpeted to yard cable due to
the damage of
conductor by its vibration.
2. In case of package unit, flexible hose with non armored cable can be accepted with
following
conditions.
- Metal hose to be earthed.
- Each side of conductor shall be wrapped by heat shrink sleeve.

Claification
1. JIS type gland on panel in package unit can be used if its type(IP grade, vendor, type,
etc.) is marked
clearly on cable gland.
2. If not, it can be accepted with suitable vendor document which prove IP grade, type,
etc.

Instrumentation earth

All metal covering of cables shall be earthed at both ends. ~~.
Instrumetn cables with armour shall have screen and armour insulated from each
other with the screen earthed at the control equipment only and the armour earthed
at both ends, ~~.
Norsok standard E-001 9.1.4 Instrumentaion earth
The IE shall be the earth reference for non-intrinsically safe, intrinsically safe
instrumentaion and telecommunication 0V reference etc.
The IE screen shall be left floating in the field end. It shall be electrically contiuous
from the field equipment and be connected to IE bar in the central cabinet.
The screen shall be connected to one IE bar only for signal cables between two
control cabinets.

1. IE is connected to one IE bar only for signal cables between two control cabinets.
