This resource is designed to allow your family to have time in Gods Word
BEFORE your children attend church. Because Gods plan is for parents to be
the primary spiritual nurturers of their childrens faith, we want YOU to be the
one to introduce this part of The Big God Story to them.
HomeFront: A Spiritual Parenting Resource This monthly magazine gives your

The Big God Story
From Genesis to Revelation, the Bible tells us the narrative of Gods love for us
and His plan of redemption for us through His son, Jesus Christ. The Bible is
truly The Big God Story.

Encourage your children to remember and retell the stories of great men and
women of the Bible such as Abraham, Moses, Esther, and David. Talk together
about how God used them in His story. Read John 3:1618. Remind your
children they have their own parts to play in The Big God Story by choosing to
believe in Jesus Christ.

But these were written that you may believe that Jesus is
the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may
have life in his name.
John 20:31

Lesson 12

The Big God Story from beginning to end is the story of Gods desire to
be in relationship with us because of His love for us.
Throughout The Big God Story we see Gods plan of redemption to bring us
back into community with Him.
The Big God Story continues to be written through the life of every believer.
We each play a part in The Big God Story. Those who believe in Jesus have a
special role to play.

Your child continues to have an active imagination. What does he want to be
when he grows up? Allow him to imagine what the future will look like and how
The Big God Story will play a part in what lies ahead.

Your child reflects on past experiences to help shape her future choices. Help her
create a timeline of The Big God Story in her own life. Talk about the milestones
and ways she has seen God active in her life. Encourage her to think about how
God will continue The Big God Story in her future.

After reading the Scripture passage, discuss the following together:
What is your favorite part of The Big God Story?
How does it make you feel to know youre a part of The Big God Story?
How can God use you to share His story with other people?

A blessing can be a spoken prayer of commission, a portion of Scripture, or
words of encouragement and guidance over your child. For more information
about blessing your child, see the Blessing section in HomeFront: A Spiritual
Parenting Resource @ HomeFrontMag.com
A blessing to pray over your child:
(Childs name), may you know God has given you a special role to play in
The Big God Story. May you be blessed by His gracious love for you so
your life will be a blessing to others.
