Foreword

ducation is very important for the overall

progress of the society and the human
wellbeing. In this modern era, Asian

countries do have a great potential in providing

affordable education to the local and international
students.
In Malaysia, there are more than 62 higher education
institutions (HEIs) including satellite branches of
the foreign universities that offers biomedical and
non-biomedical degree programmes.
The AIMST University (AIMST) is the first private
university in the northern part of the Peninsular
Malaysia that offers various biomedical and nonbiomedical degree programmes. As a founder
of the AIMST, I am really delighted; because, on
March 15, 2016, university has completed sixteen
(16) glorious years.

My journey in AIMST University started on
March 2, 2005. AIMST University is AU,
AU being the chemical symbol for gold.
AIMSTs astute corporate culture, the modern
teaching-learning methods adopted, and
its stakeholders helped university to make a
significant impact in the education industry
within 15 years. AIMST offers a wonderful
environment for learning, research and its
the perfect venue to host conferences with
the infrastructure and facilities available.
It is painful though that the best news
about AIMST never gets the mileage that it
deserves. For the academic and non-academic
achievements of the university to be known
to the world, we need more students and
staff to act as exemplary ambassadors. Last
10 years, I am here and have been very fruitful
personally and emotionally, as I enjoy the
process of educating tomorrows leaders. .

Indeed, it gives me an immense pleasure to
share my experiences at AIMST. I have been
working as a faculty member in Faculty of
Pharmacy, AIMST University since March
2006. It is one of the premier private sector
universities in northern region, Kedah,
Malaysia. When I joined the university, it was
functioning on a private campus at Amanjaya
and then we moved to our own campus at
Semeling in April, 2007. It was a great feeling
for me to see a well-built, beautiful greenery
campus and with state of art facilities carved
a wonderful place to work. The faculty of
pharmacy was started in August 2005 with
an initial intake of 50 students. The first
batch students were successfully graduated
in October 2010. Our undergraduate
programme was accredited by Pharmacy
Board of Malaysia in 2009 for three years.
Since its inception, the faculty of pharmacy
was striving hard to achieve the goals and
mission of the university.

My first service abroad in this mesmerizing

in 2010. In AIMST Dental Faculty, working
atmosphere is very exciting and friendly. I enjoy
sharing the scientific knowledge, clinical skills

AIMST has exposed me to newer system of
teaching and education. The cordial relation
between students and fellow colleagues has
made me feel at home. As a family in the
faculty, we are in a unique position to solve
the hurdles and support others passion to
teach and research. With every rolling batch
of students we are pleased to exchange the
excellence to sustain and uphold the trust of

July 2005 from Amanjaya campus. I started
my career as an academician at faculty of
applied sciences after completing my postdoctoral fellowship from USM, Malaysia.
Twenty over batch of students have been
graduated from faculty of applied sciences.
Glad to see AIMST students who are well
recognized in the country for their knowledge
in the biotechnology industries and for
pursuing their higher education and research
nationally and internally. The green campus
of AIMST has excellent facilities and is a
good environment for teaching and research.
At this juncture, I wish to congratulate all
the academic staff and management team
members contributions for making the
excellence to reach the vision and mission of
the university. I am so proud to be the part
of AIMST family to witness its growth to its
heights.

When the Dental School first started at
Amanjaya Campus with its first batch of
dental students, there were only 5 teaching
staff. Then a couple of new Indian graduates
joined in .We had to work through lunch
hours to prepare teaching aids and materials
for the practical sessions, in order to keep the
students occupied with minimal equipment
and facilities. The junior staff had to be
trained and instructed as what and how to
teach. It was during those difficult situations
that emotional attachment to the school has
developed. We do have wonderful facilities;
however, I sincerely hope that the dental
school will keep the momentum to add more
cutting edge facilities in years to come.

I really enjoy teaching and on top of that
a wonderful atmosphere at AIMST is
fascinating for both staff and students. The
natural beauty of the AIMST is really good
and we enjoy it. In fact, I feel lucky because
the AMST campus is so peaceful and hence it
is a great place especially for students.
In just 15 years, AIMST has made an impact
in Malaysia and the region. I am lucky; I am
a part of the AIMST University. Thank you
AIMST for giving me wonderful experience
and opportunities to grow further.

I am with AIMST University for over 5 years
and have spent more than 10 years employed
in the private sector. In university, I feel like
I was a part of something special and that
was important to me to help in achieving
universitys vision and mission. AIMST is
a great place to work! The best to cite are
peaceful work atmosphere, suggestions
for changes are received openly, easy to
execute changes, great co-workers, friendly
environment, lots of training opportunities,
recognition is given when its deserved, and
help offered when needed.
One thing I particularly like about the
university is its diversity in cultures and how
people of different backgrounds blend in to
form one body that is AIMST University. I
was also amazed by the open-mindedness of
staffs to join events and interact with others
which definitely makes being in University so
much more enjoyable. University has a good

AIMST University has been my second home
for the past 8 years. My first experience
started when I joined as a Mathematics
lecturer in 2006 at Center for Matriculation
and Foundation Studies. It was a remarkable
and a challenging experience as most of
the students dream to go for MBBS. It is a
lecturers dream come through when I watch
the students march through the aisle of
graduation. In 2009, I was promoted and
responsibility to Head the Admission Division
was given to me. I took it as a real challenging
job where I have gained lots of unexplained
experience. The green garden campus,
encouraging colleagues makes working life
in AIMST as pleasant as possible. Motivating
management team has always given me all
the encouragement and support for me to
continue my stay at AIMST home. Under

I was recruited to establish the Clinical
Skills Center at AIMST in 2007 after the
management had visited and seen that of
the Universiti Sains Malaysia, Kubang Kerian
that I pioneered. First time, when I visited the
university campus, I was enchanted by the
serenity and beauty of the universitys new
campus. I accepted instantaneously the offer
of employment at AIMST.
The task given to me was to establish a
Clinical Skills Center of international standard
at AIMST. This was achieved and the center
has now become one of the best in Malaysia.
Students who have been trained in clinical
skills and procedures have shown proficiency
in clinical skills prior to their ward training. To
enhance training, books and materials have
been produced in the unit to enable firm
students knowledge and skills.
Every year, 200 students are going through
training and have become the envy of
students from other universities. This is
evidenced by their performance during
ward training at the hospitals where they
demonstrate versatility in the performance of
skills and procedures.

Working at the AIMST University is my one

of the most precious experience since I
graduated. I joined AIMST University in 2006
as an administrative officer. It was a wonderful
experience in joining a new university hoping
to flourish together with its expansion and
progress.

I joined the Faculty of Medicine at AIMST

University in September 2012; I have been
at AIMST for almost two and half years
now. For me, it has been a wonderful
experience so far. Apart from the world
class campus, AIMST boasts a diverse faculty
comprising of some outstanding lecturers
and physicians from Malaysia and abroad.
AIMST has created a truly world class
teaching and learning environment in the
campus and has established state of the
art facilities and infrastructure to conduct
advanced level research in applied science
and medicine. I truly believe that under the
dynamic leadership of a highly dedicated and
experienced team at the faculty and university
level, AIMST will soon become the center of
excellence in under graduate and graduate
education and academic research. I am
really happy being a part of AIMST endeavor
to become a truly world class institute of
learning and innovation.

My affiliation to this University dates back to

the time when AIMST was Asian Institute of
Medicine Science and Technology. Working
here has been a life changing experience for
me to say the least. The lush greenery, breath
taking picturesque beauty of the campus
made me fall instantly in love with this
University when I first joined. The teaching
environment here is very pleasant and state
of the art equipments and facilities are
really wonderful. To single phrase my whole
experience here, AIMST is a magical place
that is better experienced by oneself rather
than described!

In 2007, AIMST University officially moved

to its new campus. I always wanted the
university to grow and felt that there cannot
be any substitute as wonderful and unique as
AIMST University. It makes me even proud as
the university is the first private university in
the northern part of country and it managed
to make an impact in various fields. University
is very young like a teenager. This teenager
is indeed one of the best in the country, I feel.

Ive been with AIMST for the past 7 years,
and it has been a positive experience. I came
from a different nature of work environment
i.e. manufacturing environment so it is quite
a change coming into the nature of academic
industries that gives me great opportunity
to utilize my industrial experience. However,
I really like the fact that within a short time
I got to know so many people across the
academic and support services, and everyone
has been really welcoming.
AIMST do have very comprehensive and
inclusive academic facilities. With such
facilities, I can see continuous growth
of AIMST in all areas such as academic
curriculum, campus life, students affairs,
social contributions and employees fringe
benefits from time to time.
Geographically, AIMST is just located at the
outskirt of busy Sungai Petani town separated
by Semeling river bridge but is surrounded
by the country-side environment, rivers,
mountainous forest and beaches which make
me love this place most! After all, I can say
that AIMST is a Peoples University.

the students. Currently, AIMST University is
widening the scope by taking positive steps
to build links with the leading universities

The AIMST University was started in the
year 2000 at Amanjaya, Sungai Petani. At
that time it was just a row of shop lots. The
environment for an institution was limited
for unlike other universities in Malaysia.
Enrolment was less; shortage of Facilities,
Lecturers, Lecture theatres at this initial stage.
The new campus of the university is a beautiful
area of 240 acre at the foot of a hill. There
are man-made and natural unused mining
pools within the compound. The architects
had made a wonderful job creating beautiful
buildings and well planned campus. Now
it can boast of its many faculties including
students hostel, staff apartments and even
bungalows for officials and visitors to stay.
Students and their parents are impressed
to witness such a world class institution in
Kedah Darul Aman. Today, the university
has all the faculties, professors, lecturers,
laboratories with latest equipment, lecture
theatres, world-class in-door and out-door
sports stadium.
At this point we are proud to see such a
university progressing to produce students in
the Medical, Dental and all other fields. We,
the staff will be leaving one day because of
age and other reasons but world will see the
AIMST University is standing firmly to be one
of the best universities in region.

I am deeply honored to write this message
on the occasion of 16th anniversary of
the AIMST University. I have seen closely,
AIMST University has experienced many
achievements and transformations.
What this university has done in its first 15
years is incredible. What I have learnt is that
we are committed to becoming a world-class
academic institution by promoting excellence
and innovation in education through teaching,
supervising, and mentoring students;
through research, scholarships, innovation
and through professional service. Our staffs
have been working relentlessly to achieve
AIMST vision and mission. We can now build

strategic directions. A succession of excellent

accomplishments of AIMST University has
shown our efforts were not in vain.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank

I was the first Physics lecturer and the Head

also witness the transformation of AIMST into

a range of programmes covering the health
sciences, applied sciences, management and
social sciences. In 2006, I stopped working
as part-timer for AIMST because of my
appointment as a Principal in a Government

AIMST as a full-time Physics lecturer.
The AIMST campus is really great. I enjoy

I joined AIMST University in year 2008. That
was the time that the TVs in India were
playing the jingle, Malaysia Truly Asia, and
true enough, I found Malaysia Truly Asia!
The green campus was really breathtaking
and I am still enraptured by it. The colleagues
are so warm and welcoming and everyone
helpful and cooperative. Students are bright
and innovative in their approach, eager to
learn. The teaching was something totally
different from what I was used to in India!!
With learning outcomes, objectives and
Blooms taxonomy and no clinical practice!
However, over the past 6 years, I have
learned and enhanced my skills at teaching,
thanks to regular medical education sessions
and inputs from the MQA.
I am really proud to be a part of AIMST
University, and I am sure that AIMST

that truth, I feel like a wild card winner being
here in AIMST green campus close to natures
flora and fauna.
Starting my career as a practicing pathologist
and a teacher, unexpectedly teaching became
a lifelong passion and I propelled myself into
the world of mentoring that gave me the
sense of satisfaction and joy when the sparks
of knowledge are ignited. Students are of
all categories as in any university but they
certainly made a positive difference in my
life. Being a part of AIMST for over a decade,
many colleagues and leaders have crossed my
path and I stood to learn from them, what to
do and more importantly what not to be and
this rich experience has taught me to change
the way I react to them rather than for them
to go my way.

My 4 years at AIMST University were a

wonderful time for me and my family. It
was a great opportunity, giving me valuable
experience in my academic career. The
Department of Biotechnology, Faculty
of Applied Sciences is a good place for
learning and pursuing research in my field
of Nano-biosensors. Living in AIMST was a

methods, particularly, PBL & PALS strategies
of student centered active learning methods.
Staying apart from conducting separate
OSCE & OCPE for assessing students
knowledge objectively, I appreciate the
blended OSCE+OSPE method simultaneously.
It saves, time, energy, manpower but
facilitates the students for being a one-stop

at Chancellery has added a real value and
strength to my career. This experience has
also heightened my confidence to take new
challenges of my new responsibilities after
posting at the newly established Centre for
Postgraduate Studies. I truly enjoy working
in a multi-racial and multi-cultural workforce.
At AIMST, there is always a challenge and I
am honored to be a part of the talented,
experienced and enthusiastic team that never
compromises on quality of education. We
should keep the momentum to excel further.

My journey with AIMSTs Faculty of Dentistry
(FOD) started when its first batch students
were in final year. Since then, I have seen the
accomplishment and exponential growth of
AIMSTs Dental Centre to its present form as
a full-fledged, functional dental setup. It is a
pride to mention that AIMST Dental Centre
is a pioneer dental institution in Malaysias
Private education sector.
At university level, I have observed increase
in student intake in these years signifying the
positive attitude of general public towards
this university. Due to the holistic approach
provided towards education, AIMST attracts
students from other countries too. Besides
that, it is noteworthy to mention that I have
enjoyed the beauty of this clean and green
campus.
At this juncture, I would like to express my
happiness/wishes towards completion of
fifteen years journey of this university and
seek the support of all AIMSTers for its
glorious future.

I joined AIMST University in May 2001 and
have served almost 14 years. As a lecturer for
IT subjects, I joined the Centre of Foundation

known as SGFS. Later, I was promoted to
faculty and till date have been serving as a
Senior Lecturer for Faculty of Business and
Management. During my 14 years at AIMST,
it has been an incredible avenue for me to
learn and practice. I had the opportunity
to grow in my area of teaching and take
up administrative roles. Working at AIMST
has given me the flexibility to develop my
skills in an independent manner and as part
of a team. At times I felt challenged and
stretched, wondering how I was going to
learn it all, and yet, as with any new learning
process, one skill built on another. Thank you
AIMST for giving me opportunities to use my
skills and talent.

I have the pleasure of working with AIMST
University since 2009. AIMST is aiming to
become a premier private university in the
country and region. I strongly believe that
we can achieve the universitys goals if every
staff works as a team. I am proud to be a part
of AIMST family. My area of specialization
is public health and obstetric nursing. As
an academician, the most that excites
me is nothing more than making student
understands the richness of experience as
a nurse. To me, a competent nurse is to be
able to function in multi-professional roles
to promote, maintain, and restore health
and wellness among diverse individuals
and communities. I felt exhilarating when I
obtained the first PRGS grant from KPT and
it was a really AIMST experience for me to
embark on my project. In fact, it was such a
great opportunity for me which I will never
forget in AIMST. Now I am looking forward
to have my product patented and hopefully
this product will be able to provide a good
alternative for immobilized patients with
elimination needs. I wish to continue serving
AIMST and provide my very best towards
teaching and research. Lastly, I want to
highlight that I am really happy because of
the support given by the University.

that all students and staff are very gentle
and hence working here becomes more
enjoyable. I also like the security system of
the university, we all feel safe in the campus.

To know AIMST is to love AIMST. I was a
typical student out there, with dreams to
study abroad (or at least away from home).
When I was introduced to AIMST, I refused
to know more.until I saw the beautiful
green campus for real. It was love at first
sight. The mesmerizing architecture itself
was convincing enough for me to make
my decision. I lived a well-balanced lifestyle
with a good mixture of academic and extracurricular activities. During my final year BSc
(Hons) in Business and Marketing, AIMST),
I was one of the two lucky students who
were given the opportunity to be a part
of an exchange programme with Kedge
Business School in Bordeaux, France. A
wonderful international exposure I got there
that includes traveling to many European
countries namely, Italy, Spain, UK and the
whole France is still floating in my memory.
Upon completion of my education, AIMST
absorbed me to work in its International Office
(at AIMST). Being a home groomed student,
at AIMST, I have a strong sense of belonging.
On top of it, the trust that Management has
on me is always a motivation factor for me to
continue delivering my best. My senses are
still whispering to me that my relationship
with AIMST will continue and the best is
yet to come. Thank you for the love, AIMST

University is one big learning experience that
teaches you a lot about life and provides
unique opportunities that you would never
get the chance to experience anywhere else
and I am happy to have this experience in
AIMST University. This is my first experience
of living away from home; but, I have never
felt lonely and homesick because of the
warm hospitality at the AIMST. In AIMST, I
always meet people from different situations
and cultures! Well, I always thought staying
in hostel would be so hard; but, we have
everything here and it makes life easy. The
internet facility, cafeteria with a variety of
food and the sports complex are really good.
Studying in the library is one of my best

When I first laid eyes on AIMST university
back in 2013 for the enrolment interview,
my first impression was: impressive. With
its green landscape and curved architecture,
AIMST seemed like a watered-down version
of Putrajaya. AIMST is a decent place to be
and has its charm. The peaceful atmosphere
of the AIMST is really great for the study. All
that being said, for the most part I feel 50/50
about being here. There are good times and
bad times. Overall, AIMST is a great place for
the peaceful student life.

My journey at AIMST University was a rather
long one. I was here for 9 years. Overall
it was a pleasant and enjoyable journey.
Although pleasant but it was not always
smooth. There were ups and downs, but
what I liked about this university (especially
about my faculty) is that faculty accepts their
shortcomings. Based on the feedback from
students, faculty takes necessary steps to fix
the loopholes to improve. This style of faculty
was admirable; because, shortcomings are

common as this is rather a new university.

Delightful and impressive attitude of faculty
member to adapt to students need and to
improve the students performance was
really appreciable. I think, it is essential for
the best quality education. I really enjoyed
my student life at AIMST and I am proud
that I was a part of this university. Thank you

AIMST campus is beautiful and I have learned

Priority always goes to studies and I would
say that the lecturers and the students are
very cooperative and friendly. The lectures
are lively, engaging and their knowledge is
tremendous. The learning environment is
wonderful and all the facilities ensure that
the process is enjoyable. The spheres of
development are endless due to the fusion
of both theory and practical approach.

I have joined AIMST University for my

foundation programme after completing
my matriculation in Myanmar. Currently, I
am in my fourth year of MBBS programme.
Joining this university is my first experience
of studying in foreign country. However,
due to the facilities such as sport center
and accommodation provided by AIMST, my
experience in staying abroad became quite
enjoyable. The international office also helps
the international students in all possible ways.
For the academic aspect, AIMST provides
professional lecturers with experiences who
can guide the students well and also facilities
such as clinical skills centre, laboratories,
anatomy museum, anatomy dissection hall
where students can practice their practical
skills. Moreover, AIMST MBBS is accepted by
WHO which can allow AIMST graduates to
practice medicine almost worldwide.

When I was in high school, I heard lots of good

things about the university. The very first time,
when I stepped into the AIMST campus, I was
amazed by the greenery and a lovely environment.
University campus is pretty cool with many trees
and blossoms lined between those uniquely
designed buildings, hostels and roads. In AIMST,
I learnt to discipline myself as well as to make
decisions. I still remember my first day in AIMST.
As I am from Sarawak, I have lesser chances to
encounter friends of other races. Hence, I was
so excited to meet new friends from Indian and
Malay community. My admission to AIMST was
like liberation for me, as it gave me a wonderful
chance to grow and become mature. Campus is
a very safe place. AIMST is a training ground for
me to learn how to communicate and mix with
various students despite different backgrounds,
religions and personalities.

My journey at AIMST University has been
very interesting. There are many factors
that brought me to AIMST, among them,
the opportunity to study my course from a
different perspective. Over the past three
years, I have had the opportunity to mix with
beautiful individuals from many different parts
of the world. As an international student from
Pakistan, I have valued the opportunity to
study in such a rich and diverse environment.
AIMST University gave me the opportunity to
study a semester in Bordeaux, France. When
I first came to AIMST, I was alone and scared
to even talk to people, and now three years
later, I have the confidence to not only make
new friends but also to live alone and make
it on my own for 4 months in a country like
France. AIMST has given me the courage and
strength to face the world.
I am very grateful to AIMST University. I met a
lot of inspiring people here. I love the lecturers
and my friends. I love the AIMST family
its like a second home to me. I have had a
wonderful experience here at AIMST, and Ill
carry that all with me for the rest of my life.

I am here at the AIMST under an exchange
programme from my Kanagawa University,
Japan. I have some reasons why I came to AIMST
University. First, Im really interested in South
East Asia, because these counties are currently
developing. So I wanted to have experience of
Malaysia. Second, I needed to learn English. In the
future, we are going to become more globalized.
So, in my point of view, I think I should build a
unique career to deal with future challenges.
Therefore, I feel my choice is wonderful to come
to the AIMST University.
I have experienced many things at the AIMST,
especially Malaysian festivals such as Hari Raya,
Mid-Autumn Festival and Deepavali. AIMST has
hosted these celebrations for students and staff,
so I also joined them. It was really exciting for me.
AIMST have good facilities and with friends I often
go to Sports Complex to exercise. Before exam we
go to library to study and search information.
Sadly, I will have to leave AIMST soon, but I will
not forget many things that I have learned at
the AIMST. For sure, I will tell and recommend
my friends to come to Malaysia and the AIMST
University. I hope Kanagawa University and AIMST
University will continue building close relationship.

For student those want to study abroad, it
is always difficult to choose between foreign
degrees and choose which country to get
your degree from. Like other Bangladeshi
students seeking a foreign degree, I also
fascinated studying in the UK or Australia.
But then again, financing my education in
those countries, especially when you are
willing to study science would have been a
huge burden to my Dad. So after all, I figured
that Malaysia would best fill my requirements
and fit into my dads budget as well.
I went to one local student advisory centre
put forward my requirements. After listening
to me, they suggested that AIMST University
would be perfect choice. Since I did not
complete my A level, AIMST offered me
University Foundation course leading to
Science, passing which I have to choose
among MBBS, BDS, Pharmacy, Engineering,
IT, Materials Technology and Biotechnology
degree programme. My father and I both
decided that AIMST is going to be the launchpad for my career.
AIMST University is one of the biggest private
universities in Malaysia. With its state of the
art 240 acre campus, wide range of world
renowned faculties, multiple highly equipped
research labs, excellent accommodation
and of course, indoor and outdoor sports
facilities, AIMST provides an ideal platform
for students to prepare themselves in this
highly competitive world. Faculties have been
chosen from all around the world and I must
admit that they are a true inspiration to the
students. They are ever so helpful and always
encourage the students to develop handsskills, which is very important once you start
working. I dont think I would have gotten a
better array for faculties anywhere else.
As I was also involved with the Student
Council and several other clubs and
societies, I had the honor to work with the
Administration of AIMST University. I was so
amazed to find out that the management
as well as the entire Administration is so
dedicated to the welfare of the students and
as a result of it student get quality education.
The academic calendar for every year is set
in such a way that student will not only be
studying and prepare for exams, but they also
have series of sport and cultural events, like
AIMST Merdeka Run, AIMST Amazing Race,

Cultural Night, First Beat talent hunt, Sports

Fiesta, Carnival and so many other events.
This makes campus life ever so happening
and never gets boring. AIMST has not only
given me a World-Class graduation, it has
literally prepared me to become a leader. Me
and my friends from Bangladesh who have
studied at AIMST are all working in reputed
companies in the country and are all leaders
in their own rights. AIMST has made us smart
and confident, adaptable to variable situation,
innovative and creative, able to speak-up your
ideas, all of which are necessary traits to excel
in life. Everyone may have a degree, but
not everyone get success in life. I have never
regretted studying in AIMST and it has been
every single penny worth and even more.

I had a great experience while studying in
AIMST University. When I first came, I was in
awe to see the infrastructure of the University.
It looks amazing and also the environment is
very conducive for the students. I was given a
hostel room. The facilities are complete such
as bed, wardrobe, and study table and so
on. It is very comfortable and I did not face
any difficulties in adapting in the hostel. I
also had helpful room mates who were not
hesitant at all to show the campus to me. I
was exposed to the different cultures like
the Malay culture and Chinese culture. There
are many types of food in the cafeteria and I
used to eat all types of food like Indian, Malay
and Chinese. In short, I had a wonderful time
while completing my degree programme at
AIMST University.

I was being exposed to but I was wrong. From

the first day of class, I was able to mix with a
bunch of classmates. I was new in Malaysia,
and I had a lot of questions in mind about
this beautiful country.
AIMST University offered me a chance to
have a global exposure. The teaching quality
is pretty impressive and the campus facilities
even more. I have recently won a medal
(2nd runner up) in the AFSAlimpic basketball
competition, my first time to ever win a
medal, the feeling was unexplainable.
AIMST University has helped me to grow
considerably as man but also as student with
ambition, I have gained a lot of knowledge
and theories and I look forward to keep on
learning as much as possible. AIMST is the
best, no second thought.

Though it is only a month for me being here,
still the diversity that AIMST university offers
could hardly be found in any other part of

I find AIMST as a complete package of wellequipped faculties and departments for

I would describe it as a nicely regulated

Almost a year, its amazing how University life
can change a persons characteristic so much.
Throughout this year, I have gained lots in
different aspects at the AIMST University.
One of the most valuable that I got in this

would be hard due to the diversity of cultures

I came to the AIMST University in April 2014
to study business programme. I am from
Japan, but my nationality is Peruvian. I am a
mix of Japanese and Peruvian. So I am quite
different. Malaysians are very kind to me and
to all other international students.
I have been staying here for 11 months now
and I have experienced so many things that
I could not imagine. Malaysia is a multiracial
country. I can see Malays, Chinese, and
Indians in the university. It is great that I can
experience each culture.
Actually, it was tough to get used to live in
Malaysia. But now I am very happy to be here
because I learned so many things and I am still
learning new things every day. AIMST is very
good place to study and also to experience
so many things. I went back to Japan in April
2015. I will never forget my wonderful days
at AIMST. Thank you AIMST!

The welcoming hands of my friends are

another aspect that colour my experience.
The geographic location of AIMST is another
influence to a memorable experience. The
green campus that stimulates an intellectual

of a bird waking you up in the morning, the
nights swift breeze while reading a book.

The first reason I joined AIMT University
is because of an affordable fee structure.
Second one is the campus environment. I
have explored university campus numerous
times. The campus is like a beautiful green

queen. Everywhere we can see green trees and

grasses to make our mind relax and peaceful to
study, also feels safe too. While walking from
class to class, I get a nice breeze and never feel
like I am alone. I always feel safe in the university
campus. I enjoy my course due to the faculty
and staff. I also expect to Meeting new people,
participating in new activities, and living in
different conditions will help me open my mind
to think into different aspect or think out of the
box. Overall AIMST University has all the greatest
facilities and may the best in the country. I think,
the AIMST University is a great place to study and
explore Malaysia.

Im from Kanagawa University; I came to Malaysia
for the first time in April 2014. Honestly, first few
weeks I was anxious about my life. But, AIMST
University staffs and students are very kind, and
they helped Japanese students. Thanks to them, I
have no worries now. Im so happy to study in an
extensive campus filled with warm people.
Malaysia is very interesting country for me;
because, Malaysian people who have racial
differences are living together amicably in the
country. This situation is rare in my country, Japan.
So, it was a new for me. Especially in AIMST
University, it is impressive that students study,
play sports and communicate with each other
without gulf between them. Local students are
very helpful and positive. I am supported by such
a superb environment. This wonderful experience
at AIMST University will certainly have marvellous
effects on me in the future. I am proud that I am
student of the AIMST University.

Congratulations to the AIMST on its 16th
anniversary. Im very honoured to do my study
programme at AIMST. For the few months,
when I come to Malaysia, I had some difficulty
to adjust myself because of the different culture
and language problem. However, thanks to the
support from AIMST staff and my friends, I could
concentrate on my study. I learned a lot of things
that I cannot experience in Japan. Although my
study programme is just 1 year; but, experience
of AIMST will help me in the future.

AIMST University is a perfect place for
all round development of students. My
experience at AIMST University is both
enriching and enjoyable. Alongside my
academics, I indulged in various activities like
learning new languages and doing sporting
activities.
This is my first international experience and
I have fallen in love with AIMST University.
I have a long journey to go; but, I know it
will be wonderful. The local students as well
as the staff members and the lecturers make
us (international students) feel like we are
at home. They are very friendly, cooperative
and always willing to help if in need. I would
like to describe my experience at AIMST as
amazing and wonderful.

My parents are highly impressed by the
progress made by the AIMST University in
short time. My parents were also impressed
when they saw AIMSTs facilities for the
students. More importantly, the programme
fees are within affordable range; I think,
fees are very minimal in comparison to other
universities in the country.
The first time, when we entered in the
AIMSTUniversity on the registration day, both
my parents and I were so happy because
of the wonderful landscape. My father was
particularly happy with the tight security. He
always admires the prompt responses and
professional attention to his every contact
with the universitys administration. My
mother was relieved to notice that the class
rooms and the students residences are close.
I am happy, because, I have many international
and national friends at the AIMST. They are
all helpful and we share many enjoyable
learning experiences together. I think, the
amenities and facilities are adequately
catered to ensure and ease the students daily
needs. The cafeteria prepares large range of
menu for the students of the different ethnic
palates. I wish all the best to the AIMST for
its 16th anniversary, and hope that university
will continues to be impressive in all aspects
in the education industry.

I have experienced many things at the AIMST

University since I came here. I think that the
biggest difference between our university
in japan and AIMST University is the class
system. In japan, many universities are doing
passive class. On the other side, at the AIMST
University, classes are of participatory in
nature. The lecturers and students do have
close association. Therefore, I can participate
in the class aggressively.

I am studying at the AIMST University since

2011; did my Foundation in Science and
managed to enrol in BDS to achieve my
dream. When I stepped into AIMST University
for the first time, I noticed that Malays are
the minority and I took that as a challenge.
Being half Malay and half Chinese, it wasnt
that difficult for me to mix around and
communicate. I made really great friends
here who are so dear to me. After almost
4 years of studying here, I have learnt a lot
about life as well as improving self-qualities. I
learnt how to respect other people and their
beliefs, Ive expanded my view of Malaysians
norms from different angles and different
races and I appreciate my country a little
better. I have also become more independent,
patient, confident, and comfortable in English
communication. In brief, AIMST University
gave me the exposure I needed to make me a
better dentist in the future. Thank you AIMST!

Besides, students at AIMST University

are serious in each event such as sports
competition. Therefore, each event is
always a fun. Furthermore, we can unite
all the members. I participated in a sports
competition and it became great memory
for me. I think, AIMST University is a great
place where we not only study but enjoy the
student life also.

Academic achievement, new community
and territory had direct influence to change
my perception, thoughts and behavior
from different perspective toward students
from three different unique communities
in Malaysia. Nevertheless, processes and
curiosity of learning something new never
stop me for goal achievement but was
challenging and fast throughout three years.
I wouldnt say AIMST University was horrible
experience but from my point of view thats
how it should be, frankly speaking University
life contributed to improve my soft skills and
gave me confidence. Demonstrating abilities
to overcome obstacles and challenges
successfully which gave me hope that I can
do it further beyond in a far better ways.
Thank you AIMST!

My experience with the AIMST University
began with my enrolment in Foundation
in Science course. From then till now, the
university never ceases to amaze me with the
way it works and caters to students needs
immediately. The magnetism of the AIMST
Universitys lush green campus is indeed
astonishing. The campus boasts beautiful
panorama with the state-of-art facilities and
great diversity of students. The academic and
non-academic staffs are very welcoming and
always eager to assist the students in every
way possible. Furthermore, the tutorial and
practical sessions of each subjects are very
interactive and student friendly. I really love
the AIMST campus and student friendly
atmosphere. Hence, I have decided to
continue my further education at the AIMST.

I had come in contact with many lecturers in

the AIMST University. I do like most of them.
They mix freely with us. They treated us as
their children. We had a good relation with
them. They helped me in learning my lessons
if I had any difficulty. Medicine is not easy as
you think. You need a lot of patience and
passion to survive in this field. However, my
lecturers, family and friends are always there
for me. In four words, AIMST is the best!

At the AIMST University, I needed to set goals

and milestones. I have heard a lot of different
things from a lot of different people. Right now
I am starting to get the feel for the university
experience, but I still have a lot ahead of me.
I have finally realized that it does not matter

an open mind and develop my own thoughts
about all of these things. University life had
broadened my knowledge about many issues
that I have not even thought about. I hope to

excitement and the little nervousness I felt,
as I walked towards the Great Hall with my

in Foundation in Science programme. After
completing this programme, I got a wonderful
opportunity to do MBBS.
AIMST is really beautiful with amazing natural

I was not really keen to leave hometown for
education purpose. Finally I decided to study
at AIMST University for my Foundation in
Science. My first few days were tough. I
rarely left my room and preferred to be alone
in my hostel room. I complained about almost
everything - food, internet speed and other
things. May be this was due to homesickness
and lack of friends. During the second week
of the academic session, I realised that its
easy to complain about things and feel
depressed. I decided to make efforts to adapt
myself with the campus and make friends.
After completing 6 months, I noticed that I
am really in love with the AIMST campus and
feel proud for my own transformation. So my
fellow friends, I implore you to change your
mind-set, look at all the beautiful things in

most unforgettable experiences for me in

it really boosted my self-confidence. Lastly,

Education is an important aspect in this 21st
century. The quality of education is very
important in primary school, secondary school
and at tertiary level. University is a time of
experimentation and self-discovery. We do live

loads of new people and we get a sense of new
responsibilities. I did my Foundation in Science
in AIMST University. I like the AIMST University
campus; hence, I decided to continue my

In AIMST, there are several societies and

APPENDIX 7:
Why has Malaysia become a preferred education destination?
The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) report on Higher Education in Asia: Expanding Out,
Expanding Up (2014) identified five prominent factors which are influencing students choices to select Malaysia. Five factors are stated
below:

1. Cultural comfort: Malaysia is a melting pot of cultures and ethnicities. UNESCO highlights that Malaysia provides a friendly
environment particularly for Muslim students, whose values and practices are understood, widely shared and respected.
2. Cost: The costs of undergraduate and graduate degree programmes in Malaysia are considered very affordable.
3. Value for money: The UNESCO highlights that the strong quality of Malaysian higher education is perceived as representing value
for money.
4. Language of instruction: Many programmes are taught in English, which is perceived to be a critical language to master in order to
access international employment opportunities; and
5. Quality of life: Malaysia offers a good quality of life and is widely regarded as a comfortable place to live and study.

Whoever has the luck to be born a character can laugh even at death. Because a character will never die!
A man will die, a writer, the instrument of creation: but what he has created will never die!
