Carrabelle cooked by city employee William Massey and other volunteers. On Saturday the 13th, the Museum had over 300 visitors. First time parade participants Past Nationl DAV Commander and current FL State Commander James E. Sursely who followed the Army Band in a restored WWII Willys Jeep. Three Werhmacht soldiers and their vintage BMW motorcycle with side cart were also a first this year.. Also, CGJA Board member Buddy Bryan brought his immaculately restored CCKW.
A Special Thanks to American Legion Post 82
Camp Gordon Johnston and their Auxiliary On Friday evening, the 12th of March, Post 82 in Lanark Village hosted the largest crowd ever to come to the annual social hour in honor of Camp Gordon Johnston Days 2010. The overflow crowd enjoyed a feast prepared by Legion and Auxiliary members that was provided free to all. The Camp Gordon Johnston Association cannot thank Post 82 enough for their continued support and generosity. Live music by “Not Quite Ready” caused numerous couples to the small dance area to revel in old standards from the 40’s and 50’s.
