Resume from a film Something the Lord Made

A film happened in America, in 1900s, about partnership between a white
skinned cardiologist, Alfred Blalock, a doctor who specialise in giving
diagnosis and treatment for heart and blood vessels diseases, and a dark
skinned African-American, Vivien Thomas. At first, Dr. Blalock work in an
universitys lab, and Thomas is a new cleaning service at Dr. Blalocks lab.
But, Thomas show an interested in Dr. Blalocks books. Then, Dr. Blalock
see the hidden talent inside his new cleaning service. Since that, Dr.
Blalock assign him to be his lab assistant. Vivien became very happy to
take this chance. He is doing very well in his job, even, he is succesful as
an asistant in an experiment about traumatic shock, which is using dogs
as the replacement of the patients.
Later, Dr. Blalock with Vivien doing an experiment to cure the Blue Baby
Syndrom at Johns Hopkins. In Johns Hopkins, Dr. Blalock placed as a Chief
of Surgery, then he asked Vivien to accompany him working as his
asistant in Johns Hopkins, but Viviens work didnt appreciate properly, his
salary worth just as a cleaning service. This injustice build a wound in
Viviens heart, then he told his request to Dr. Blalock to raise his salary,
but Dr. Blalock reject. So for a period of time, Thomas resign from Johns
Hopkins and work as a freelancer. After that, he realise that his calling is in
that place, so he continue work in Johns Hopkins with Dr. Blalock and
finish their experiment about Blue Baby Syndrom. Their first trial was
success and popularise Dr. Blalocks reputation. After some years, Viviens
hard work is appreciated, he gets a certificate, equation as a doctor,
without formal doctoral education. As an appreciation for their services,
Dr. Blalock and Viviens picture are displayed in the Johns Hopkins wall.
Their hardwork be done not in easy way, each of them have some bad
characters that delay their succesful, such as, Dr. Blalock, a well educated
doctor with high prestige and often get hurt Thomas heart. His prestige
and ego let him forget the great support from his assistant, the AfricanAmerican guy, Vivien Thomas. And his achievement make him feel
powerful but actually he cant do those things without Vivien. The good
side of Dr. Blalock is he wants to fix his relationship with Vivien. Yet Vivien
is a sensitive guy too, he gets mad for every Dr. Blalocks treatments
which is seems unjustice, but, in the end, Vivien always forgive Dr. Blalock
so they can keep doing their experiment to cure the Blue Baby syndrom.
Therere some values of life we can learn about. First, we have to
hardwork and be faithful in what we are doing now, even if it isnt what we

think we like, because it may deliver us to the something that God has
prepare for us. Second, we should give thanks for every condition,
because it let us to keep being humble and growing better each day.
Third, we know that every person is worthy and special in their own way,
respect and appreciate them, dont underestimate and dont judge them
by their look.
