BP KHAZAN PROJECT - HVAC SYSTEM DESCRIPTION &

OPERATING PROCEDURE

The HVAC system for SER building consists of two numbers of

Fresh air handling units(FAHU-01 & FAHU-02), four numbers air
cooled condensing units(CDU-01, CDU-02, CDU-03 & CDU-04), five
numbers Ceiling suspended type DX split units. Battery room
ventilation purpose have provided two extract fans duty plus
stand by basis.
Control room and battery room pressurisation purpose fresh air
handling units are used. Control room is always maintained
positive pressure
and battery room is maintained negative
pressure.
Each FAHU is connected with two condensing units(DX type).
FAHU with corresponding condensing units are operating on duty
plus stand by basis. Each FAHU is incorperated with seperate
motorized volume control damper to control the air volume with
its supply air duct.
FAHU-01(Duty unit) selector switch is switched on, before the
motor starts running, corresponding motorized damper need to
get 240V supply and the actuator need to energize and open the
damper completely, minimum one minute time will take for the
full opening of damper. After the full opening of damper only the
motor need to starts and correpondingly blower has to run. The
motorized damper supply need to retain during the FAHU
operation.
When the FAHU has get the start command then only the
condensing unit need to get the start command. Each FAHUs is
temperature is controlled by individual thermostat.

During the change over time, FAHU-01(Duty unit) will come to of

position, and duty units motor with blower will come to stop
position.
Automatically through BMS command the relevant motorized
volume control damper will go for closed position.
Damper open / close position of status (Feedback) is given as
volt free contact (VFC) to monitor the EPD Panel
Adjustable 24 hour timer is provided to achieve our run hour
control logic and duty change over time control logic. However,
normally it is recommended by maufactrer is 8 to 12 Hrs,
inaddition that this adjustable time will helps to achieve our own
project requirements and it could be in line with our site
requirements.
Generally, If the duty unit get switch of/trips whatever so
reasons, then only stand by unit needs to be enabled through
automatic control logic. During the enabling time stand by units
motorized damper need to get power supply of 240V and starts
for opening operation. Unless otherwise the damper is opend the
enabled command As the above mentioned procedure need to
continue in the stand by case also.
Each FAHU supply air temperature is controlled by individual
thermostat. Each thermostat is directly linked with the condensing
unit through the AHU control kit. There is no link between the
thermostat and the HVAC Panel.

In this system can monitor the blower rotation and other status
such as filter clogging, air flow failure. System has provided air
flow switch in the supply air duct for the blower rotation.
