the best way to face the challenge is to confront it head on....and so is teh case for ca cpt
and especially for QA.
firstly try to understand what you are good at when it comes to answering this part of
exam...for this alone will help you in knowing what strenghth to rely upon in
exams...moreover never let your fears overpower your faith.
now to the more technical side of answer:
i.first if you are from non maths background prepare thouroughly in stats. for this
compensates well for maths
ii. then check out what subjects are managable for you in maths
iii. work on topics wich are tricky but can be understood by you.

V. and lastly, before exams COMPULSARILY solve the mock test papers of ICAI. this
helps you in preparing mentally for exam

Firstly if you are an ISC based student you wont have much problem with this subject.
Just go through 12th syllabus. Secondly if you have enough time then refer study mat
provided by institute and go through the notes and practice sums IN WRITING.
Since CPT is OMR based exam you can save lot of effort using basic tricks like for algebra
based question instead of solving the equation substitute the variables in equation by
answers using hit and trail method.
And Lastly if you are real short of time which was my case, Go through the basic
formulas, solve few mocks and in exams solve the question without seeing the answers, if
your resulting answer is one of the answers mentioned in options, HIT IT or else leave.

I hope you are from an Non-Maths stream. It won't be difficult for you nor easy..
If you want to score 25+ you should cover whole Stats syllabus for a non maths students it
won't be difficult to cover Stats, it's very easy. Stats itself will come around 20+.
And in Mathematics you can do some simple chapters like Ratio and Proportions,
Logarithm, Simple Interest and Compound Interest(mostly formulas)..
Practice is the main key to get more marks in Quantitative Aptitude and if you are
through with the above Chapters you can even score 30+ I think..
