Jalandhar stations of PJPL project.

PROCEDURE NO: - INDCON-PJPL-STN-PNP-CIVIL-06

Bending, binding, lapping and placing reinforcement cement concrete shall be
done as per exhibit drawings and as per provisions of IS: 456 and other relevant
IS codes.
Bars shall be bent cold correctly to the size & shape as given in the detailed
drawings
and
as
per
provision
of
IS:2052-1963.
Bars shall be thoroughly cleaned of rust and all foreign matters before placing in
position. The bars crossing one another shall be tied together at every
intersection with two stands of 18 gauge G.I. wire twisted tight to make the
skeleton of steel work rigid & to avoid displacement of reinforcement. Unless
otherwise specified minimum cover & spacing and bond length for reinforcement
bar shall be provided as per the provisions of IS: 456.
The bars are placing in position. The cement concrete mixture in proper ratio can
be properly mixed with the help of mechanical mixture. Now this mixture is filled
in the bars. Care shall be taken so that the mixture is properly filled so that a
good bond is build between the bars and cement concrete.
The curing shall start after 24 hours of laying, and would continue for 10 days.
Test cubes shall be casted as per the instruction of site engineer in the standard
mould of 150 mm x 150 mm. Minimum two numbers of cubes shall be casted at a
time, half of the cubes shall be tested after 7 days and remaining half after 28
days of casting. The casted cubes shall be cured regularly during this period.
