DefiningRFComponents
AkeychallengeinRFengineeringisaccountingforimpedancedifferenceandreflection

RFToolboxenablesyoutospecifyRFfilters,transmissionlines,amplifiers,andmixers,either
directlyorbytheirphysicalproperties.Networkparameterscanbegeneratedfromwithin
MATLAB(http://www.mathworks.com/products/matlab/)orreadinfromexternaldata.
Youcanreadandwriteindustrystandarddatafileformats,suchasTouchstone.Youcanalso
specifycomponents,suchaslumpedRLCelementsandtransmissionlines,bytheirphysical
properties.RFToolboxcalculatesthecorrespondingnetworkparameters.
UsingRFToolbox,youcandefinecomponentsinthefollowingways:
GeneralcircuitelementsusingdatafromTouchstone.snp,.ynp,.znp,and.hnpfiles
RLCelementsusingtheirnominalvalues
Transmissionlines,usingthelines'geometriesandelectricalproperties
