PRAYERS FOR THE DECEASED: We pray for our loved ones who have died recently,
especially Cecile Imbleau.
PRAYERS FOR THE SICK AND SHUT-IN: “Let us raise up in prayer those who seek God’s
healing love, those at the hospital, hospice and at home”. We pray especially for Marjorie
Dolan, Brian Smith and Harold Bolger. May your struggle be consoled by Christ’s love“.

FIRST COMMUNION CELEBRATION

T his weekend we celebrate the conclusion of our ON OUR WAY WITH JESUS program. Families of our
parish have completed the year long journey of initiation of the young people with the reception of
God’s forgiveness and full communion. I wish to thank first the parents who have invested greatly in this
opportunity for the faith development of their children. May your every effort assist them to know the
ongoing wonder of God’s gift of himself to us.
To our parish catechists and coordinator I also express our gratitude. Your support to the families and the
parish are most appreciated.
To the young people who have reached this milestone on the journey I trust that you will always know
how special it is for us as Catholics to be so gifted by Jesus in communion.
Following Sunday Mass this weekend we will gather in the parish hall to continue our celebration with a
social time together. God Bless you all.
Our newly initiated are:
Morgan Barkey Marcel Barron Shanna Beauchamp Savanna Brown Caley Campbell
Anthony Danes Samantha Danes Emma Kluke Loraina Marzano Beatrice Mellan
Jack McNulty Damien Weirzbicki Connor Zohr

CHARITABLE GIVING: A tradition at St. Francis Parish is to give 2% of our Sunday offerings to
local and global based charities to support their efforts to build a better world. In light of the
new Encyclical: Caritas Inveritate, this is but a small but serious attempt to recognize the needs
of “All that God has created”. I thank the committee who assist me in making the decisions
about the endowments. This year’s distributions have been made to:
Bonnechere Manor Auditorium Campaign $500.00 Renfrew Food Bank $500.00
Unicef, Mosquito Net Fund $500.00 Admaston Food Grains $500.00
Peruvian Missions-St. Joseph Sisters: $500.00 Doctors Without Borders $500.00
Canadian Northern Missions: $500.00 Hospice Renfrew $350
St. Joseph’s High School D.R. Experience $200.00 Sunshine Coach $200.00
SUMMER HELP!!!! - We are in need of volunteers to assist with Liturgical Ministries over the
summer months particularly. Hospitality Ministry and Lectors/Commentators are particularly
needed. If you are inclined to assist please call the parish office.
CELEBRATING MASS COMPLETELY: The Final Blessing, Dismissal, and Recessional Hymn are intricately part
of the Mass. We conclude the celebration as a people singing together. The celebrant and liturgical ministers lead us
out of the church to live what we have just received. The ongoing practice of leaving Mass at varying stages
post communion is disrespecting our community at worship. The regularity of this practice is also encouraging
others to join in this attitude. We respectfully request that you be considerate of the order of the Mass and
one another in following the liturgical ministers out after the celebration has concluded.

PRAYERS FOR THE SICK: Part of our Faith Journey often involves the human challenge of sickness. We
seek the blessing of God to not only relieve us of the reality but to assist us with the challenges of living life in
new ways. God’s invitation to new life often involves sickness as part of the transition. We often invite others
to pray for and with us. This tradition is more than an information matter for the parish bulletin-it is a request
for prayer. In requesting people to pray with and for us we ask that you be sensitive to the purpose of having
names on a prayer request in the bulletin. Also one must be certain that the person wishes to have the
matter be made on their behalf. We hope to reinstate a parish prayer ministry to assist the sick and dying.
SHOPPING COUPONS: Several of our less fortunate families rely on assistance with the basic need of
food. Often there are coupons and vouchers for food products that we may not have a use for. Others could
benefit from them. Most are time dated but if they could be of use we invite you to drop them in the
coupon box now installed in the main foyer. Distribution of them will be through a new assistance program
that we are attempting to introduce to our community.
