WEEKLY REPORT

Its our 2nd week in the BFP, many knowledge and information were shared to us
by some officers in the station specifically in emergency medical situation and on how to
apply first- aid.
Its January 18, 2016 Monday, 0800H, we attended the Flag Raising Ceremony in
front of the Tabaco City Hall together with the Fire Station Officers, PNP and LGUs.
After that, all of us arrived at the station through the fire truck. Around 1300H, FO1
Chrismax B. Bognalos taught us how to conduct proper patient assessment during
accident, the proper handling and care given to an injured person.
On the other day, January 19, 2016 Tuesday, FO1 Albert Balla taught us about
the Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation, how to conduct CPR and who will be conducted by
the CPR which is part of Basic Life Support. In the Afternoon, around 1330H all of us
were evaluated in proper conduction on Basic Life Support which is CPR. Checking the
airway, breathing and circulation of a patient and giving an immediate care.
Wednesday January 20, 2016, OJTs from Tabaco College arrived at the Fire
Station. We started working on our daily routine which is cleaning our areas of
responsibility. In the afternoon Sir FO1 Chrismax B. Bognalos taught us about the
Foreign Body Airway Obstruction and Proper Handling of Soft Tissue Injuries together
with the Tabaco College OJTs. We introduce ourselves one by one, during actual
evaluation camaraderie is observed in both different school.
January 21, 2016 Thursday FO1 Albert B. Balla taught us about Bandaging and
Splinting, proper handling of fractured bones and dislocated bones. The proper care
given to protruded eyeball, the different kinds of carries, the one ma carry, two man
carry, and 3 or more man carries. The collar drag, armpit drag, shoulder drag, assist to
walk, back strap, piggyback, Firemans carry and Lovers carry.
For the whole week we had learned many strategies and techniques in giving
Emergency Medical Services in an ill patient. January 22, 2016 Friday around 0900H all
of us were evaluated, proper application and care was observed. We group 2 first serve
as the respondent and the other group serve as the victims and vice versa. Sir FO1
Balla and FO1 Bognalos rated us for proper applications and cares given to the
protruded eyeball patient, fractured bones, unconscious and conscious patient and
spinal cord dislocation. As the whole we are all rated as Very Good.
In the Afternoon we were given a written examination together with the Tabaco College
OJTs, although our scores were not announce yet we have learned so much on our two
week stay in the Bureau of Fire Protection.
