Senior Mess Building catches fire

What Happened/ Chuyn g xy ra:

Whilst contractors for the NHTCM Joint

Venture were in the process of performing
alterations to the senior wet mess in the
camp, a fire broke out inside the building
that spread to the ceiling causing
irreversible damage to the building.
No persons were injured.

Actions Taken or Planned/ Hnh ng hoc s c thc hin:

Nearby Security evacuated the persons from the building and an electrician working in the area isolated the
electricity to the building
Security personnel then utilized fire extinguishers on the fire
The Control Room was contact who activated the Emergency Response
The fire truck arrived and the ERT extinguished the fire using water
Area cordoned off and investigation initiated

The rapid intervention of personnel and emergency response contained the fire from spreading to
adjacent buildings
Combustible and volatile material removed from the building to diminish the fire intensity
Personnel evacuated and accounted for
Recommendations/ Kin ngh, xut:

Review smoke detectors in camp buildings

Enforce contractors compliance to site safety rules
