Introduction

Important Information
CA Call Account stores the following sensitive information:
Phonebook data (user information)
Settings and call charge information
SMDR passwords for PBXs
User account information
Access logs
In order to prevent data theft and leakage, we recommend the following:
Securely erase all sensitive data when transferring or disposing of the computer.
Do not leave the computer unattended while the software is running, and set a password-protected
screensaver to activate after your computer has been idle for a set amount of time.
Carefully manage access to the computer, and limit access to your local network only.
Periodically change the passwords for user accounts.
Set a login password that is at least 5 characters long, and contains a combination of letters and numbers.
Make sure to confirm and update access privileges when users change computers.
Use Windows Update to keep your system up-to-date with the latest software patches.
Notice

This software is a trial version, valid until 30 June 2009. If you would like to purchase the software,
contact your dealer.
If you exit CA Call Accounting, the SMDR data will be accumulated on the PBX. However, there is a
limit to the amount of data that can be stored on the PBX. For details, refer to the PBX documentation.
The contents and design of the software are subject to change without notice.

CA Call Accounting Web Client

On the client, you can search for, view, print and save call information. You can also configure the call
charge settings. Because the client application is accessed with a web browser, you can access it from
anywhere on the network.

Emergency Call Alert

When an extension user dials an emergency number, an alert window is displayed, and a sound is optionally
played on the server PC.

You can configure the following settings on the server:

The alert windows appearance
The sound to play, how long it is played, etc.

Wake-up Call Alert

When a Timed Reminder or No Answer for an extension is activated, a notification window is displayed and
a sound is optionally on the server PC.

You can configure the following settings on the server:

The notification window's appearance

The sound to play, how long it is played, etc.

Charge Calculation
CA Call Accounting calculates phone call charges based on your charge settings. You can configure up to 4
charge tables for each PBX. Each charge table lets you specify a variety of conditions in order to accurately
calculate call charges.
On the web client, you can customise the charge settings for the criteria below:
Time of day (peak, off-peak, economy)
Leading digits of the phone number (for long distance calls, international calls, etc.)
Trunk
Holidays
For more information about how call charges are calculated and how to programme the charge tables, see the
help.
Notice

The call charges calculated by CA Call Accounting are only estimates. The calculated charges may
differ from the actual charges billed by your telephone company.

Note

The number of SMDR records that can be stored is 100,000. If the memory becomes full, the oldest
SMDR record will be overwritten each time a new SMDR record is received.
A call charge of up to 7 digits is shown for each call, and the total can consist of up to 17 digits, including
whole numbers (max. 10 digits), the decimal point, and a preprogrammed number of decimal digits
(max. 6 digits). If the call charge exceeds the maximum number of digits, considering that the decimal
point does not move, all numbers will be replaced by nines. For example, if the number of decimal
places is set to 3, the maximum call charge will be calculated as 9 999.999, even if the actual charge
exceeds this.
The number of decimal digits can be programmed via the web client. Go to Options Other
Settings Currency and Decimal Places Setting.
