Managing the Message Tracing of the

GGSN9811

About This Chapter

The tracing function is used in daily maintenance. You can locate the fault in the service flow
by tracing the message. After the data is configured, you can enable the tracing function to verify
whether the signaling links are normal, and then locate the fault.
8.1 Creating Message Tracing Tasks
This part describes how to create the message tracing tasks. The tracing management of the local
maintenance terminal (LMT) contains interface tracing and user tracing. The LMT provides
message descriptors to describe the messages. If you double-click a specified message in the
browsing window, you can query the details of the message. This facilitates the operator to
analyze the tracing message.
8.2 Browsing Tracing Messages Online
This part describes how to browse the tracing messages online. You can browse the tracing
message displayed after the tracing task is created. When browsing the messages online, you
can scroll down the window and browse the message description.
8.3 Saving Tracing Results
This part describes how to save the tracing results locally.
8.4 Stopping/Restarting Tracing Tasks
This part describes how to stop or restart the tracing tasks. When you do not need to trace the
task temporarily, you can stop the tracing task. When you need to trace the task again, you can
restart the tracing task.
8.5 Closing Tracing Tasks
This part describes how to close the tracing tasks. When you do not need to trace the task, you
must close the tracing task to save system resources.
8.6 Browsing Tracing Results Offline
This part describes how to browse the tmf file offline through the trace viewer.
