Divisibility Exercise

1. What is the largest possible two digit number by which 2179782 can be divided?

a.

88

b. 50

c. 66

d.99

From the options we first check for the divisibility by 11

2+7+7+2=18, 1+9+8=18 so the difference is 0and hence number is divisible by 11

Now we check for the divisibility by 9

2+1+7+9+7+8+2=36 and 36 is divisible by 9 and hence the number is divisible by 9

The number is both divisible by 9 and 11 so it is divisible by

number is both divisible by 9 and 11 so it is divisible by So, the largest

So, the largest possible two digit number by which 2179782 can be divided is 99.

The largest possible two digit number is 99 after that we get 100 which is a 3 digit

number.
