NETBALL GIRLS SHOW GENEROSITY TO UNDERPRIVILEGED TEAM

Bryanston Primarys U11A netball team showed heart this week, by
assisting a netball team from an underprivileged school.
The U11A team played the Ebomini Primary U11s in the district
netball playoffs, and all the BPS girls were distressed about the
fact that their opponents did not have any takkies to wear. The
coach said that they come from a very poor area and most of
the childrens parents are unemployed, and therefore takkies are
a luxury, not a necessity.
The parents of the Bryanston U11A team made donations, and
Mrs Leigh Penney purchased ten pairs of takkies and socks. These
were then taken to Ebomini Primary in Ivory Park, where they
were presented to the netball team. The girls were
delighted with their new footwear!
And in the spirit of sport, the girls all
went outside where a spontaneous
game of netball broke out, even
though they were all in school
uniform and shoes showing that
sport is a great way to break down
barriers! A crowd of children gathered
to watch and cheer for every goal
scored.
Well done girls, for your generosity
and care for those less fortunate than
yourselves!
