The format of the examination paper

The following guidelines regarding the format of the examination paper are of the utmost importance.

The examination paper comprises TWO sections, namely Section A and Section B. Section A
consists of 30 multiple-choice questions and is compulsory. Section B consists of THREE
questions totalling 35 marks each. You must answer any TWO questions in Section B.
The duration of the examination is two hours.
The questions in the examination paper will require paragraph-length answers as well as shorter
answers.
Note the marks allocated for each question. It is unnecessary to write an answer of half a page in
length if it totals five marks. In the case of a question that counts 10 marks an answer of half a
page should be sufficient, provided that all the relevant facts are given.

serves as your study guide) as well as all the other tutorial letters for this module.
Write clearly and legibly.

indicated on the examination paper.
Please remember to enter the numbers of the questions which were answered in the column
provided on the front page of the examination script.
Formulate your answers concisely. Keep to the point only write down the facts expected of you.
