Introduction
ISIE-Electric solar vehicle championship is Asias largest solar championship. We
aim to build students interest in Renewable source of energy. Our focus is to
develop interest among the engineering student towards alternative power sources,
which are the future of Automobiles. This can enhance their practical skills as well
they can learn team management, so our engineering student will avail to face any
hurdles in the way of real engineering.
ESVC is a design and manufacturing of solar racing car event under ISIE Design
Restriction so as to compete with other teams all over the country. Teams will use
Electric motor to run their Vehicle. This will help them face real-world engineering
design projects and other related challenges. Our focus to develop interest among
the engineering student towards alternative power sources, those which are the future
of Automobiles.

to prevent disqualifications.
E4.
E4.1.
It is a static round. Our judges will check the teams design skills and new
ideas. Judges may question anyone in the teams regarding their vehicles
design and innovation.
E4.2.
It is not a compulsory round however points from this round will be used to
calculate the overall winners. Each award carries a maximum of 100 points.
E4.3.
Since it is static round it will be held right after the technical inspection.
E4.4.
Teams are advised to prepare separate reports for each of the awards, so that
it will be easy for the judges to evaluate.

E5.1.
Brake Test- All the Vehicles have to pass the brake test to participate in any
of the dynamic events. The Vehicle must stop in a straight line after the
brake is applied on the Vehicle. Each Vehicle will be given 3 attempts to
pass the brake test. But in case if the Vehicle passes the test in first attempt it
will not be given any other trials.
E5.2.
Brake Test does not have any points, but it is mandatory for the teams to
qualify this round to participate in the dynamic round.
Acceleration Test: The acceleration event evaluates the Vehicles
acceleration in a straight line on flat pavement.
Procedure: The cars will accelerate from a standing start over a distance of
50 m on a flat surface. The foremost part of the Vehicle will be staged at
exactly behind the starting line. The time taken to accelerate would be
measured.
Scoring: The acceleration score is based upon the corrected elapsed time.
Elapsed time will be measured from the time the car crosses the starting line
until it crosses the finish line.
Scoring formula: Scoring formula: 150 [(T longest T yours)/ (T longest- T shortest)]

each DOO (including entry and exit gate cones) that occurred on that
particular run to give the corrected elapsed time.
E5.8.
Did Not Attempt (DNA): If the Vehicle did not attempt or if it does not
complete the event, then those teams would receive DNA.

E9.3.
If the vehicle stops due to mechanical failure then 15 min will be given to start
the vehicle. If the vehicle cannot start in 15 minutes, the vehicle will not be
allowed to run further in this stage and number of laps covered will considered
final. The vehicle will also be disqualified for the stage B.

If the vehicles halts because of low battery then they can move their vehicle
to side of the road to charge the batteries only with solar energy. Batteries

On completing this stage the vehicle has to move their solar electric vehicle
to specific arena to charge their batteries with solar energy. All the teams will
be given one hour to charge their batteries with solar energy.

E10.2.
Case 1
Vehicles speed will be calculated. Teams vehicle has to drive at
least 40 meters of distance or else will not be considered in case 1.
The range for this round is from 275 to 200. Here vehicles velocity
will be calculated for scoring. Team with maximum velocity will be
the winner of this round. It is team decision that whether they want
to remove the battery or not. But battery should be totally
disconnected from any electrical circuit and should be visible to
judges. All other components that are fitted during the technical
inspection have to be placed in this round.
