Information
The details pane can be used to see the most common properties associated with the selected file. File
properties provide more detailed info about a file, such as the author, the date you last changed the file,
and any descriptive tags you might have added to the file.

This tutorial will show you how to show or hide the details pane in File Explorer for your user account in
Windows 8, Windows RT, Windows 8.1, and Windows RT 8.1.

Note
Setting the details pane to hide or show in File Explorer is a universal setting applied to all
folders, and not just specific folders.
The details pane only shows the total size of up to 15 selected items by default. Viewing
the total size of more than 15 selected items requires clicking/tapping on the Show more
details link in the details pane first.
You can drag the left border of the details pane left and right to increase or decrease it's
width in File Explorer.
If you set the details pane to show, then it will replace the preview pane if it is currently
showing.
If you set the preview pane to show, then it will replace the details pane if it is currently
showing.

Hello m18xr2,
I'm afraid that the Details pane is a global setting to be on or off for all folders.
I haven't test this, but you might see how this below works for having the Details pane at the bottom in Windows 8/8.1.
I would recommend to create a restore point before doing this just to be safe.

Hello Andrews, and welcome to Eight Forums.

It sounds like you may not have pressed all 3 Alt+Shift+P keys together fast enough.
I like pressing and holding Alt, then press Shift+P and release keys.

Usually you see what's in your screenshot if you pressed Alt+F instead.

Explorer's Details Pane

A fairly simple question: Has anyone tried to (or found a third party app) that can put the details pane back to
the bottom of the File Explorer windows, like it was in 7. It was of great use to me when reading tags and
other information. In 8, it just takes needless width space from the windows.
