INTRODCTION
I.
Imagine youre an alien that being lost in the space while driving your parents
starship.
Unfortunately, the starship that youre driving is still under maintenance
progress and even your parents doesnt have courageous and confident towards that starship.
B.
On your journey to the unmentionable place, suddenly your starship start to shake and
become uncontrollable. Like MH17, your starship have fallen down to the place which its
gravity force is so strong.
C.
You start to realize that youve fallen down to the piece of foreign land on the earth.

II.
You looked carefully at your surrounding and you can see clearly the creatures here
are totally different in your neighbourhood.
A.
They have a white skin colour and they speaks in unique languages that you cant
understand which they called it Hangul.
B.
The community here are so obsessed with gadgets and everyone here seem to hold a
rectangle devices with a touchscreen technology called Samsung.
C.
Some of them seem to have fun after working hours have ended and there is a bottle
of rice wine called Soju in their hands.
D.
They also eat using a sticks and every meal must have a sour cabbage junk called
Kimchi on their dining table.
E.
Their physical appearance also is totally weird which most of them have a small eyes
and a short thick eyebrow.
F.
Suddenly, you start to remember what youve learned at your university, that there is a
country on earth named South.
III We skip and leave alone the alien tragedy in South Korea and lets focus with what I
am trying to talk about. I am one of the billion victims of Korean wave that crashed the

world a long time ago around year 2009. From Sorry Sorry by Super Junior to Gangnam
Styles and from Winter Sonata and the latest one, The Descendent of the Sun, I never
missed one of them until I start to realize that My life is so boring without these things.
Every aspects about South Korea really inspired me.
(Transition: Lets begin by looking at the several aspects of South Korea that we should learn
well from them)
BODY:
I.
South Korea citizen is more nationalistic than Malaysian and we as a citizen of
Malaysia must learn how to be more nationalism in order to save our own various cultures
and tradition.
A.
Nowadays, we can see there is a lot of westernization that took place in Malaysia.
1.
The westernization that we can clearly see in Malaysia is through fashion. Most of
fashion designers today designed their clothes based on western country because they think
that fashion industry there is more developed and looks fancier than us.
2.
The Malaysian artists fashion in the red carpet of ABPBH 29 seem not appropriate
with the Malaysia cultures and identity as a Muslim country.
3.
Another example is about the wedding dress of Anzalna Nasir that was accused to be
the same with the gown design of Elie Saab Fashion.
B.
Korean tend to show off how great their love to their country.
1.
In Korean drama, you can frequently see the phone brand that used by the actor and
actress is the only one, Samsung.
2.
The car that being displayed in Korean drama also shows to us that they are practices
nationalistic. No matter how rich and arrogant the hero is, they still use Hyundai to promote
their products internationally. The public transport like taxi also used Hyundai products.
3.
The Korean drama and film producers will used the benefits of their beautiful country
as a background scene. For example, Winter Sonata that successfully made Nami Island as
one of the biggest attraction in Korea can attract about 3,000,000 visitors in year 2014.
(Transition: Now, together weve look how important the nationalistic can benefits to the
citizen of the country. As a Malaysian, we need to protect and practices our own identity as
there is a proverb takkan melayu hilang di dunia. Please dont be too influenced and
exposed yourself to western cultures as it give more disadvantages than advantages. As Oscar
Wilde said patriotism is the virtue of the vicious. )

I.

In South Korea, there a ppalli ppalli ( ) culture, meaning hurry, hurry

which focuses on getting things done as quick as possible. This is a positive value that
we as a Malaysian need to adopt in order to develop our country to be a better place to
live in.

A. According to research by Robert M. Klassen, University of Alberta, Malaysian

adolescents or teenager reported among higher levels of procrastination in the
world.
1. For example, in group assignment, mostly, you will faces a few members who
always practices procrastination and free rider as my friend, Roshayati
Razali had mentioned in her previous persuasive speech.
2. The effect is you will fail to submit your assignments on the due date and its
also will affects your carry marks. If it affects your carry marks, maybe it also
will affect your target to get a perfect score in the final exam as well.
B. If there is 9 out of 10 people who practices procrastination, I think there is no
chance for Malaysia to have a bright future.
C. Under the ruling or direction of Park Chung-Hee, Koreas president in the 70s,
Korea began to cultivate a sense of urgency which lives on today.
D. There is a post office department called Quick Service that operated in South
Korea.
1. Those who need to deliver business documents or other small items in a hurry
can take advantage of quick hurry, a fast delivery service by motorcyclist
usually in Seoul and other big cities where chronic traffic congestion is the
norm.
E. Although they have practices ppalli ppalli culture, they are not rush entering
the train. They will patiently waiting all the passengers exit from the train at the
door.
(Transition: Although impatience might seem like a negative personality trait of Korean, its
also what makes Korea so adaptable and responsive quickly to the newest trend. So, were
Malaysian need to practices and adopts this positive cultures so that our 2020 Mission can
be achieved without doubt. Its possible if ppalli ppalli culture contribute to the how fast
the Korea development evolved compared to Malaysia.)
II.
Healthy food culture that being adopted by South Korea a long time ago made the rate
of obesity in Korea stands at just 4%. Malaysian need to make South Koreas healthy
food culture as part of their daily life as the rate of obesity in Malaysia become
increase from time to time.
A. For your knowledge, the total number of overweight adults in South Korea stands
a wide margin lower than other OECD countries like Canada, England, Spain,
Australia and others. Malaysia also like other OECD countries which its obesity
rate at the worst condition.
B. Malaysias Health Minister, S. Subramaniam has given warning that our country is
in the midst of an obesity epidemic with almost half the country or more than five
million people can be classed as obese.
1. New figures show that almost 18% of the country nowadays experienced
overweight.

2. Back to twenty years ago, only 4.4% of Malaysian were considered obese and
its almost the same as South Korea obesity rate nowadays. Like in a blink of
eye, that is a decade later, Malaysias obesity rate had jumped to 18%.
C. There are two clear reasons why South Korea has the lowest margin of the obesity
rate.
1. South Korea is highly health-conscious.
2. Korean cuisine is healthy and well-balanced.
D. If you going out for a meal at a Traditional Korean Restaurant or even to a
Modern Korean Fusion Restaurant, one of the visible aspect on displays is the
abundance of vegetable-base side dishes and staple starches such as rice. They
also provided sky juice to their customers rather than other sweet drinks.
E. Anyone watching the Soccer World Cup 2002 Korea/Japan noted that the players
of the South Korea team ran so fast.
1. Other teams complained and wanted an investigation of the South Korea team
for performance-enhancing drugs. But the South Korea team said their players
just drink ginseng tea and eat ginseng soup.
2. For a quick boost to your health, nothing beats a cup of Ginseng tea.
(Transition: Malaysia need to imitate the Korean Food culture in order to get a better quality
life and simultaneously contribute more to the countrys productivity. Although there is a
great took jamu such as Qu Puteh and DHerbs in Malaysia, we also need to consume
unprocessed food and avoid additives and high calory food as it can gives us more
disadvantages than advantages.)

CONCLUSION
I.
In conclusion, I am pleading with each of you to take action to help our country
change its image from developing country to developed country by implementing
the positive value of South Korea.
II.

We also as a good citizen, need to accept with an open heart the look to the east
policy that introduced by our former prime minister, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad
instead of adopting role model from western country.

III.

By adopting the South Korean moral values, I hope I can inspire you to be a
someone who will change our Malaysia to be a better place to live in.
