INTRODUCTION
The proposed works to be amended out is located on a 3.11 acre site.
The site is located along Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur. The location of
the site is shown in the location plan below. Part of the site is currently
being occupied by two existing restaurants (Pelita Nasi Kandar & Chef
Choi).
SCOPE OF WORKS
The contract involve the erection of a temporary fencing / hoarding,
followed by the soft strip of internal elements, asbestos removal and
perimeter scaffold erection when required

WORKING HOURS
Normal working hours for the works are expected to be :
Monday to Saturday 0800hrs to 1900hrs
No work shall be executed outside of these times or on Sundays and
Public Holidays without the written approval of the engineer /
Authority.
4.0
VISITORS
For the duration of the contract, a visitors log shall be maintained.
Personnel shall be required to sign in and out as well as state the nature
of their businesses. The signing of this visitor's log will imply that the
persons have read and understand the site rules and regulations. It will
be the Safety Officer who will be responsible for ensuring Health &
Safety compliance.
5.0
PERSONNEL
Prior to starting work, they shall be fully conversant with the contents
of the Method of Statement.
All records of site inductions for all of the works being undertaken on
site shall be retained by the Safety Officer at all times during the project
within the site office.
6.0
PRECAUTIONS
1. No operative may start work on site without undergoing site
induction.
2. Toolbox talks will be given on a weekly basis.
3. Dust must be kept to a minimum.
4. All machinery will be operated by a skilled operator familiar
with the requirements of the works.

COMMUNICATION
Operators of machines will be prohibited from using mobile phones
while working at heights.

10.0
SEQUENCE OF WORKS
The demolition works shall be carried out in the sequence as set out
below.
10.1 Site Boundary and Hoarding
Prior to the commencement of any demolition works, the Contractor
will provide and erect temporary fencing and gated entrance along the
site boundary to suitably secure the site for the duration of the
demolition works. The hoardings must be constructed so as to
adequately protect the public and prevent trespass on site while work is
in progress, and include the provision of all temporary warning signs
and lighting to the satisfaction of the S.O.
10.2 Existing Site Utilities and Services
All services will be assumed to be LIVE until tested as proven
otherwise. The Contractor shall identify or scan to identify all incoming
and outgoing services and to ensure that all existing gas, electricity,
water and telecommunications supplies to the building to be
demolished are isolated or diverted in advance of the demolition works
and that isolation certificates are obtained from the relevant statutory
undertakers. Not with standing this, prior to any demolition or
excavation works commencing, the contractor is to carry additional
checks within the building and surrounding areas to confirm that no
services remain live.
10.3 Safety Signage
The appropriate signage will be installed at the main entrance indicating
that work is in progress and the general public is not allowed to enter
the site.
10.4 Site Facilities
Site welfare facilities will be established within the main site
compound. The facilities will comprise of portable toilet for the
workers.
10.5 Safety and Emergency Procedures
The site emergency procedures shall be posted up from within the
guard cabin. All demolition personnel shall have access to the
Company Operating Manual, which gives procedures for dealing with
incidents.
In the event of an emergency, the personnel shall inform the site safety
officer who shall then notify the appropriate emergency services. The
safety officer shall be ready at the site entrance to direct emergency
services to the scene.
Do not touch or move anything from the scene of the incident, secure
the area only if it is safe to do so.

12.0
HAZARDOUS MATERIALS
All hazardous materials identified during the works shall be removed
from site in accordance with an agreed risk assessment.
The Contractor will handle and dispose of all hazardous wastes in full
accordance with Duty of Care and all waste management regulations
currently applicable.
13.0
EXISTING DRAINAGE
All drainage pipes and connections within the building footprint are to
be cut off at floor slab level, and the pipes sealed with expanding
polyurethane foam.
All manholes, gullies and drains within the site are to remain, and the
Contractor is to protect these against damage caused during the
demolition works.

WASTE SEGREGATION
Where possible, the waste from the demolition will be separated and
removed from site in 4 main categories:

Rubble
ii.
Wood/ Timber
iii.
Metals
iv.
Glass

ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY
The objective will be to minimize the environmental impact of all our
operations.
Steps shall be taken to minimize dust, smoke, noise and vibration
disturbance. Control measure shall include forced ventilation, dust.
