IBPS PO 2015 - PAPER PATTERN AND STUDY PLAN


IBPS CWEs Calendar for 2015-16 Out ! Change in selection procedure for PO & Clerk V
IBPS had released the dates for PO V, Clerks V, SO V and RRB IV to be conducted in 2015-16.
IBPS has also changed the selection procedure for PO V and Clerks V. IBPS has decided to hold two-tier
examinations for recruitment of PO/MT and Clerks from CWE-V onwards. There is no change in selection
procedure for RRB IV and SO V.
Please note the following important points which have been mentioned in the official notice of exam dates
as released by IBPS.

1. On successful registration under CWE PO/MT-V and CWE CLERK-V, candidates will be called for
Preliminary Examination.

2. Based on the performance in the preliminary examination, certain number of candidates will be
shortlisted for Main Examination.

3. There will be fewer number of questions in the Preliminary Examination with shorter duration.
4. Marks obtained in the Main Examination will only be considered for short listing for interview
(Marks of Prelim. examination will not be considered for preparing the final merit list)

The details with regard to both, Preliminary and Main examinations will be made
available on IBPS website through the detailed notifications in due course.

IBPS PO STUDY PLAN


IBPS PO EXAM consists of online Objective Paper. There is no Descriptive Writing Test for IBPS CWE for
PO.
The test areas in the objective type test of IBPS PO exams include tests from amongst following:

ONLINE PAPER (Objectives)


I. REASONING
1) If you prepare for Reasoning diligently, you can score heavily in the exam
2) Last years exam papers
a)

Any one of Kiran or Arihant. If you have any other paper set, you can use that as well. You
should target to solve atleast 50 Reasoning questions everyday from the paperset.

3) Instructions
a)

The following are given in decreasing order of priority. This means point 4a is more
important to master than point 4b and so on.

b)

Solve 30-50 questions on each topic. However, if you already are comfortable with a
particular topic, you can move to the next topic to make best use of your time.

c)

Similarly if you are really afraid of any particular topic, you can leave it. However, you must
make sure that you do atleast the first 5 topics properly and do not leave many topics

You can also choose some other book like RS Aggarwal etc.

II. QUANTITATIVE APTITUDE

III. ENGLISH LANGUAGE (Objective)

1) General guidelines

Study the following topics with emphasis on understanding concepts. Avoid mugging of
data and dates

With organizations, you should try to understand functions, jurisdictions, name of key
current and past persons in positions of responsibility, geographical location etc.

c)

With economic terms and concepts, understand how they change, who changes them and
how they are used in the economy

d)

With acts and legislations, understand when it was passed, what did it replace, what was the
major change and emphasis and how does it affect the economy and various sectors therein

e)

These points below are given in decreasing order of importance. Meaning, you should focus
on point 1 before you focus on point 2
