Volunteer work and teaching experience

Teaching: Greek belief and unbelief (CLAH 365), 2013-14, and 2014-15, a third year undergraduate
module at Liverpool University, alongside Thomas Harrison. This included marking duties and
assistance with the organisation and planning of the module structure.
Passed teacher training modules run by University of Liverpool (MDLR 614 and 615, 2014/15).
Volunteer work: National Museums Liverpool, under Georgina Muskett, the curator of Antiquities,
2011-15. Between one and three days a week.
Archaeology: Duttons farm, Lathom, volunteer, for several weeks in 2009 and again in 2010, with
follow-up visitations. Iron Age, Mesolithic, and Neolithic occupation.
Archaeology: Lathom House, volunteer for three weeks in 2009, investigating the Civil War site,
locating the original Lathom House destroyed in 1645.

Computer skills and additional experience

Editorial support for academic staff including Dr. Vasiliki Zalis Shape of Herodotean Rhetoric (2015). I
have provided proofreading and academic support in an advisory role to current undergraduates.
Extensive presentation experience.
Considerable experience in building and maintaining computers.
Experience with Museum internal data systems, like MIMSY (Liverpool World Museum), creating
databases of Medieval coinage and of the Ince-Blundell Ash-Chest collection.

Specialist experience with Adobe Photoshop: correcting the colour imbalances, background
imperfections, and levels in thousands of images of Classical coinage.
Software expertise in GNUs GIMP, Blender, the Office Suite (including Access and Excel).

Languages

Fluent English, oral and written.


Moderate knowledge of written Ancient Greek.
Moderate knowledge of written German.

PhD AHRC BGP Studentship, Postgraduate Research Studentship 2013-16 tuition fees and
maintenance grant to pursue a doctorate in Ancient History.

Hobbies and interests

Computers, books, movies, and comedy. I have helped campaign for internet freedoms; my favourite
book is Herodotus Histories, followed closely by Orwells 1984; my favourite movie is Monty
Pythons Holy Grail.
Politics, ethics, and religion. (I am not religious.)
