Present continuous Unit number 2 Believe or not
In order to reinforce Verb Tenses (Reforzamiento de Tiempos Verbales) you will check
The Present continous Tense.
Form:
verbo de referencia: speak=hablar
Im speaking= yo estoy hablando (afirmacion)
Im not speaking= yo no estoy hablando (negacion)
Am I speaking? = Estoy yo hablando? (pregunta)

USE:
1) Se utiliza para describir acciones que se estn desarrollando Al momento de habla:
I am reading a book. = Yo estoy leyendo un libro (en este preciso instante)
You are playing football now. = T ests jugando al futbol ahora (lo estoy viendo)
2) Tambin se utiliza para describir acciones que se estn desarrollando alrededor del momento en el
que se habla, aunque no necesariamente en ese preciso instante:
I am studying French. = Yo estoy estudiando francs (me he matriculado en una academia, sin
embargo, en este preciso momento no estoy con los libros de francs)
3) Se utiliza para describir una accin que va a tener lugar en el futuro CERCANO (UN PLAN) y
sobre la que se ha tomado una resolucin firme. En este caso, siempre se tiene que mencionar el
tiempo en el que se va a desarrollar la accin:
I am going to London next week. = Yo voy a Londres la prxima semana (la accin se va a
desarrollar en el futuro prximo y existe una decisin firme por mi parte de llevarla a cabo, (es mi
intencin el realizarlo)

4) Otro uso del presente continuo es para describir acciones que se vienen repitiendo con frecuencia;
en este caso, la oracin viene acompaada del adverbio "always" (siempre):
He is always working. El est siempre trabajando (con el significado de que trabaja frecuentemente,
quizs, incluso, excesivamente)

Activity:
I) Complete con la forma correcta del presente continuo ( to be + verb+ing)
Ex: I _______to the mall this afternoon (am, go)= I am going to the mall this afternoon
(recuerde conjugar bien el verbo to be y agregar ing al verbo principal.)
