My Point of view about the Quality of Education in Colombia.

Colombia is a country where anything is possible including education.

I believe that all

things depend on what we really want to learn, time has changed, if what you need is free
education there are institutions such as SENA ( National Learning Service ), the biggest
problem in our culture we ourselves, because we need to create awareness that education is
essential for a good future . And education is important for us to become good people to
society, if a person wants to change his own life and future, people know that the study is
really important to accomplish this. What we must change is our mentality, Our thoughts ,
our beliefs, and so everything will be better .
What the government provide for a quality education in Colombia?, nothing. The intention
is good but lies too. This is a cruel reality, but the government provides nothing more than
just promises, and firms in many documents that do not lead us to a true reality, In
Colombia everything moves with dreams and promises. But the reality is different.
People who finished Primary Education and secondary education,

it is because they

themselves paid for it. And what kind of education they receive ?. which the teacher or
tutor according to their own conscience offers.
Well, that's what I see and I think unfortunately in my country, and what happen with the
higher education?. Well the State want the students to go into debt which means lets give a
little help for the poors because Since they are poor lets give them credit and ICETEX but
the colombians students dont want credit nor ICETEX they want ressources for the public
university and quality education.
Colombians students dont want no sham democracy, we want real democracy and the
only way to build it is by taking the students into account and what should be presented
shall bare voice of the universitary community and not only the voice of the government
and its project for the country.
But what the government says about the quality Education in colombia?

Acording to the text published by Wes (World Education News and Review) At a
conference in 2010 President Juan Manuel Santos said the goal for 2025, the achievement
is to turn Colombia The most educated country in America Latina . Additional efforts
include the 2010 mandate by the Colombian Constitutional Court that all public primary
schools should be free of charge. In 2012 the mandate was extended to public secondary
schools. In 2015, Colombias education budget increased by 5.75%, Recent data show an
overall increase in educational access and attainment, especially in low-income
populations, indicating that students from all economic backgrounds are benefitting from
increased education opportunities.
I hope that by 2025 this purpose is fulfilled, and I think we can all contribute to this as a
nation, and not be in another document signed .
