UIU "SKARUCH"

General purpose and description


Compact ultrasonic measuring device of the "Scanner" series - "SCARUCH" (UIU "SKARUCH") is intended for
operational detection of flaws and their definition in welded joints and base materials of pipelines, containers, and
metal constructions with the wall thickness of 4 60 mm and thickness measurement of fabricated parts with thickness
up to 100 mm.
This device is used for manual and mechanized ultrasonic quality testing of welded joints and base metals with the
longitudinal scanning rate of 0.5 -1.0 m/min along the weld or the base metal section.
The UIU "SKARUCH" operates in the mode of Automatic Logging and Interpretation of Readings (AL and IR) by
transducers system when hand scanned, as well as in the mode of the General Purpose Hand Flaw Detector (thickness
indicator).
Tests can be performed under shop and under assembly conditions.
This device underwent official tests and there are positive opinions of enterprises in various branches.
The UIU "SKARUCH" is certified by the State committee for standardization of the RF, it is registered in the state
register of measurement devices (? 15723-96) and is allowed to application in the Russian Federation.
The "SKARUCH" usage procedure is approved by GOSGORTECHNADZOR of the RF and is permitted for the application
in enterprises.

Functional special features

realizes 16 different sounding options and methods on each millimetre of surface under measure

detects internal flaws (pores, slags, lack of fusions, cracks etc..)

identifies flaws according to their nature (volumetric, volumetrically-plane, plane)

estimates flaws parameters (length and depth propagation)

measures thickness of base material by scanning width range of 65 mm

controls automatically the level of acoustic contact with the part to be measured

sets and corrects automatically the parameters of ultrasonic test with roughness allowance.

the Russian Federation and included into a state register of testing equipment ( 15723-02) and permitted for application at the territory of the Russian
Federation.
The operation technique of USTU SKARUCH has been approved by Gosgortechnadzor of the Russian Federation and permitted for application for objects under
control.
