BI FUNCTIONALITY IN

SAP BUSINESS ALL-IN-ONE

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS – Internal & Partner Use Only

PRODUCT
Q. What is the new offering?
A. For midsize companies who need greater efficiency and transparency, SAP now offers business intelligence
functionality in SAP Business All-in-One as a combined ERP and BI solution, that helps you get the visibility,
insight, alignment and accountability you need to better manage revenue, margins and liquidity.

Business intelligence in SAP Business All-in-One combines SAP BusinessObjects Edge BI software with SAP Best
Practices for Business Intelligence to deliver graphical reports and interactive dashboards that complement the
existing reports in SAP Business All-in-One.

Unlike generic BI offerings from other vendors, SAP provides preconfigured ERP and BI integration, and best
practices for sales, financial, services, purchasing, and manufacturing analysis. The result is faster deployment,
lower cost of ownership, increased productivity and greater collaboration.

And SAP provides modular functionality that allows midsize companies to address their most critical needs first,
realize quick return on investment, and easily add more functionality as their business requirements change
over time.

Q. How is the offering different than what SAP announced after the BusinessObjects acquisition?
A. In Q1 2008 we offered BusinessObjects Edge BI software for use with SAP Business All-in-One. The difference
between what we offered then and this offering is the SAP Best Practices for Business Intelligence package which
provides preconfigured content and best practices functionality for SAP BusinessObjects Edge BI software with
SAP Business All-in-One ERP.

Q. Isn’t there already SAP Best Practices for Business Intelligence based on SAP NetWeaver Business
Intelligence?
A. Yes, the SAP Best Practices for Business Intelligence (v7.30) based on SAP NetWeaver Business Intelligence (BI)
has been renamed to SAP Best Practices for Business Warehouse (BW). Customers or partners on behalf of
customers should ensure they download the SAP Best Practices for Business Warehouse if they are using SAP
NetWeaver Business Intelligence.

Q. Is this new offering the same as the regular SAP BusinessObjects Edge BI software, or is it a subset of
functionality?
A. The offering is the product SAP BusinessObjects Edge BI software plus the SAP Best Practices for Business
Intelligence package. When customers purchase the offering they get the regular SAP BusinessObjects Edge BI
software not a subset of functionality.

Q. How is the offering different than the out of the box reporting functionality in SAP Business All-in-One?
A. Out of the box SAP Business All-in-One offers best-practice reports, analytics, and tools to satisfy the basic
reporting requirements for financial accounting, logistics, customer relationship management, and more – all
preconfigured by business role and business scenario. This offering provides additional functionality in the areas of
dashboards and visualization, report formatting and interactivity, scenario modeling and integration with Microsoft
Office.

Q. Can I use this offering in conjunction with the out of the box reporting functionality in SAP Business All-in-
One?
A. Yes, we expect that customers will use both together because the SAP Best Practices for Business Intelligence
package currently covers a subset of content provided by the out of the box reporting functionality in SAP Business
All-in-One. Additional content may be provided by the best practices in future releases. In the meantime customers
or partners on behalf of customers can build additional reports and dashboards using SAP BusinessObjects Edge
BI software.

Q. How is the offering different from SAP BusinessObjects Rapid Marts?

A. Business intelligence functionality in SAP Business All-in-One populates the reports and dashboards by directly
accessing data in the ERP application. In contrast SAP BusinessObjects Rapid Marts extracts data from the ERP
application and loads it into a data mart (relational database). Then reports and dashboards are populated by
accessing data in the data mart. SAP BusinessObjects Edge BI can be used in conjunction with SAP
BusinessObjects Rapid Marts.

Q. How is the offering different than the current SAP NetWeaver Business Intelligence (BI)?
A. Business intelligence functionality in SAP Business All-in-One populates the reports and dashboards by directly
accessing data in the ERP application. In contrast SAP NetWeaver BI extracts data from the ERP application and
loads it into the SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse (BW). Then reports and dashboards are populated by
accessing data in SAP NetWeaver BW. SAP BusinessObjects Edge BI can be used in conjunction with SAP
NetWeaver BI.

Q. When will the offering be available and where?

A. The offering will be localized and available as follows. For countries not part of the current localization plan we
suggest working with the regional SME Solution Centers to determine how available localized versions can be
used for their countries. For example, with some changes the U.S. version may be used by other English
speaking countries.

STRATEGY/FINANCIALS
Q. Why is SAP rolling out this offering now?
A: With no room for error in today’s turbulent economy running a successful business requires greater efficiency and
transparency. Business intelligence functionality in SAP Business All-in-One helps customers meet these
challenges by providing additional preconfigured reports and dashboards that deliver hard facts for decision
making. This expanded functionality enhances their ability to be a best run business in the current economic
downturn and position themselves for growth when the economy recovers.

Q. When will this offering be announced to the market?

A: The current plan is to make the first public announcement at CeBIT in March 2009. However, the date may change
and this document will be updated to reflect the change.

Q. What is the expected business benefit for SAP?

©SAP AG 2009
Business intelligence functionality in SAP Business All-in-One Page 10 of 10
FAQ – Internal and Partner Use Only
Version 090309

A. It is one of SAP’s business priorities to further extend market coverage and leadership in the SME space. This
offering enables SAP to meet even more of the requirements of midsize companies by addressing their reporting
and dashboard needs at a low starting cost – with the ability to easily take advantage of comprehensive BI
functionality as their business needs dictate.

Q. How many customers are you expecting to gain with the offering?
A. As part of our standard business practices we do not provide forecasts on customer acquisition rates.

Q. You already have a business intelligence offering based on SAP NetWeaver BI. Why are you introducing
this offering?
A. SAP knows that a one size fits all approach does not work for midsized companies. While SAP NetWeaver BI has
been successful in the upper mid-market, customers in the lower mid-market are looking for enhanced reporting
and dashboard functionality that does not require a data warehouse. This offering meets those needs and enables
customers to easily add functionality as their needs grow. Since SAP BusinessObjects Edge BI software works with
SAP NetWeaver BW customers can rest assured that their initial investments will be protected should they reach a
point where they need a data warehouse.
