In this Case of receiving antenna, this source is replaced by a receiver and other parts of the
transmission line same.
In wireless system, this antenna must optimize or accentuate this radiation energy in some
directions and suppress it in others.
Thus an antenna must also serve as a directional device in addition to a probing device.
It may be a piece of conducting wire, an aperture a patch, as assembly of elements, a reflector, a
line and so on.
