Argentinian Teacher Writes Lionel Messi A Letter, Asks Him To Be The Hero
Her Students Deserve, Not A Quitter
Following Lionel Messi's abrupt decision to quit the Argentina national team, fans
everywhere are praying that the Barcelona forward will pull out from everything
that's bringing him down.
From Argentina president Mauricio Macri to football legend Diego Maradona, all
have pleaded with him to reconsider his decision of forever turning his back on
international football.
Even though Messi will continue playing for Barcelona, it offers no consolation to
millions of admirers who worship him. Among them are thousands of students who
idolise the star enough to carve their future paths in the footsteps he leaves behind.

But footsteps that lead to a world without football? They don't deserve that.
And this is precisely what an Argentinian teacher has penned down in her plea to
Messi. Her letter illustrates the many dreams Messi's exit would shatter, not to
mention the alarming negatives it will create on impressionable minds who want
nothing more than to be like him.
Teacher Yohana Fucks' letter went viral in Argentinian circles for being the most
reasonable plea anyone has made.
"Lionel Messi,
"You will probably never read this letter. But I will write it all the same, not as a
football fan but as an Argentine teacher, in this profession that I chose and love as
you love your own.

"I could write to you about your marvelous talents in the most popular sport in our
country, the pleasure it gives me to be one of the generations lucky enough to see
you show off the magic in your boots, or about the admiration you awake in every
country in the world. But that would only serve to repeat cliches. Instead I will
write for your help in a much tougher challenge than you have ever faced, I want
you to help me in the difficult mission of moulding the behaviour of those kids
who see you as a football hero and an example to follow.
