Kolkata,June23:Aimedatfosteringresearchinfuturistictechnologies
like robotics and unmanned vehicles, the Defence Research and
DevelopmentOrganisation(DRDO)onThursdayenteredintoajoint
venturewiththeJadavpurUniversityforestablishingaRs.100crore
research
centre.
Tobefunctionalinthenexttwoyears,theJagadishChandraBoseCentrefor
AdvancedTechnology(JCBCAT)willactasaself-accountingunitofthe
DRDO.DRDODirectorGeneralS.Christopher,wholaiditsfoundationstone,
saidthecentrewillprimarilyundertakeresearchinareasofsecuresystems
and cognitive technologies, directed energy, unmanned and robotics
technologies
and
other
futuristic
technologies.
WithabudgetofaroundRs100crore,thecentrewillnotonly
promoteresearchinfuturistictechnologies,itwillalsofacilitate
