The Trackaxle Front Steer Dolly

Improve Safety, Increase Payload and Reduce Tyre Costs

Superior Safety Performance
Better high speed performance measures mean the vehicle tracks accurately in normal travel and more
importantly, it is more controllable in an emergency manoeuvre at speed.

High Speed Stability

The vehicle consistently behaves more predictably in high speed situations, for instance, when changing
lanes.

Less Lane Width

By reducing the potential off tracking produced by a small steer correction or avoidance manoeuvre, the
vehicle can reliably use narrower lanes.

Carry More At Higher Centre Of Gravity

Vehicle stability is critical to high mass and COG of payload. More payload = more profit.

Stabilise An A-double Or Road Train

The more complex the vehicle combination, the more critical it is to have low off tracking and rearward
amplification figures. Road trains are notorious for bad lateral movement at rear of vehicle.

Reduce Dolly Tyre Wear On Turning

At maximum articulation, the Trackaxle dolly has a turn radius which eliminates side scuff on the dolly tyres.

Excellent Test Results

After the Trackaxle dolly had been shown by a computer model to pass the PBS level
2 standard, it was put through strenuous high speed testing with an A-double
combination at full load on an airport runway. The tests demonstrated that with the
Trackaxle dolly, the combination proved to be remarkably stable at speed.

Yaw Damping (%)

1.

Yaw Damping coefficient measures how much the off tracking is reduced at
each oscillation after an avoidance manoeuvre. High numbers are best. This
result is more than three times better than the standard value.

2. High Speed Transient Off tracking measures how far the rear wheels track
outside the steer wheel in a Standard lane change manoeuvre. The lower the
number, the safer the vehicle. This result is a dramatic improvement over the PBS
standard.

3. Rearward Amplification measures the exaggeration of a sway from the front to

rear of a combination. Low numbers are best. This result is an improvement over the
PBS standard of approximately 47%.
