Basic Truth: I can trust God no matter what.

Welcome Time
Welcome kids and spend time engaging in conversation and catching up. Get ready to experience
todays story.
Before kids arrive, pray for each regular attendee by name. Pray for those who might visit your group
for the first time. Pray that the story of Jesus and its power would penetrate kids hearts. Ask God to
help them understand, in their own way, the impact this story could have on their lives.
What You Need: Candy
What You Do:
Hold up one piece of candy and ask:
o What would you do for this (lollipop)?
o Would you do 30 jumping jacks?
o Would you spin around 20 times?
o Do as many push-ups as you can?
o Say, Black bug bit a big black bear, A big bug bit the little beetle but the little beetle bit the
big bug back, Friendly fleas and fire flies, or Purple paper people, five times fast?
Give each kid a chance to perform a silly task to acquire a piece of candy.
What You Say:
That was fun! Was it worth doing jumping jacks, push-ups, and tongue twisters to get your prizes?

Activity #1
The Biggest Story (application activity / review the Bible story)
What You Need: Bible, The Biggest Story Activity Page; 1 set for each kid, colored pencils, scissors,
tape
What You Do:
Give each child The Biggest Story Activity Page.
Encourage kids to find the picture that shows what happened first in the Bible story. Lead them
to describe what is happening in the picture. If necessary, ask prompting questions to help them
remember important facts.
Continue until the kids identify and describe each picture in order. If time allows, let them color
the pictures.
Guide kids to cut out the pictures and tape them in order on the bottom half of the Activity Page.
You can add action/movement by leading the kids to picture-pose each story frame.
What You Say:
Paul knew that [Bottom Line] the story of Jesus is bigger than any other story. Its bigger because
its the most important story EVER. Its Gods TRUE story of how much He loves us and how we can
live forever with Him. So remember: [Bottom Line] The story of Jesus is bigger than any other
story.

Activity #2
What You Need: 2 different colors of paper, pictures of shoes; 4 pairs, Bible, 4 hula-hoops
What You Do:
Form two teams.
Give members of one team one color of paper and the members of the other team a different
color. Ask kids to wad up the papers into a tight ball and hold on to them.
Set each pair of pictures of shoes in the center of its own hula-hoop and place all the hoops in
middle of your space.
Have all team members form a circle a few feet away from the cluster of hoops. Kids can stand
anywhere they choose (not necessarily next to a team member).
Point to the pictures of the shoes, sandals, or boots and tell the kids which ones represent Paul,
King Agrippa, Queen Bernice, and Festus. Let kids briefly review what they remember about
each person from todays lesson.
Explain that you will read a statement. At the end of the statement, kids should toss their paper
wad into the shoes of the person in the Bible story who could have made that statement.
After each statement, tally the paper wads that made it into the proper shoes. Give one point for
getting the paper wad into the correct hoop and two points if the paper wad went inside the
shoe. Take away a point for every paper wad that landed in the wrong shoe or hoop.
The winning team is the one with the most points.
Review Statements:
1. You are out of your mind, Paul! (Festus)
2. Im ready to be put into prison. In fact, Im ready to die for the Lord Jesus. (Paul)
3. Are you trying to talk me into becoming a Christian? (King Agrippa)
4. Agrippa, darling, be a dear and fetch me my crown. (Bernice, King Agrippas Queen)
5. Im sending this man to Rome, but I dont even know what charges to list against him. (Festus)
6. My queen and I are quite fascinated by this prisoner named Paul. (King Agrippa)
7. So, this bright light came down from heaven and the voice of Jesus spoke to me. (Paul)
8. I dont see why this man should die or be put into prison. (King Agrippa)
9. I preach to everyone from all places and backgrounds. (Paul)
10. The story of Jesus that I am telling you is bigger than any other story. (Paul)
What You Say:
God gave Paul some unique opportunities to tell people that [Bottom Line] the story of Jesus is
bigger than every other story. Paul is a great example for us to follow. Wherever he walked, he told
those he met about Jesus. We can walk that way too. Our shoes may be different, our clothes are
different, and the places we go are different, but we can share the same story that Paul shared.
Everywhere we go we can help others know about Gods love and forgiveness. [Make It Personal]
(What are some opportunities youve had to share Jesus story with others? How did people
respond? What did you do if the response wasnt what youd hoped for? Remind the kids of
how important it is to always show kindness to people even if they dont want to hear about
Jesus.)

What makes the story of Jesus the biggest story of all? Yes. [Bottom Line] The story of Jesus is
bigger than any other story because its Gods TRUE story of how much He loves us and how we can
