Demethylation of the SOCS1 and SOCS3 Proteins
Poster presentation, based on an independent research project completed for
BIOL 4910 - Research Problems in Biology/Medicine. The presentation
encompassed an overview of the methodology implemented and executed in
order to investigate the relationship between SOCS proteins and cytokine activity.
The presentation included a description of the structural characteristics of SOCS
proteins, their inhibitory capacity regarding the inactivation of cytokines,
particularly inflammatory cytokines, and the potential outcomes of cytokine
upregulation in the event that the SOCS proteins experience a loss of functionality
as a result of various chemical processes, such as demethylation. Some of the
laboratory techniques utilized to perform the research involved in this experiment
include, but are not limited to, proper laboratory safety, cell cultivation, cell
passaging, cell detachment, and western blotting.

Lip Color Products are Potential Reservoirs for Pathogenic Bacteria

2016

Poster presentation based on the results obtained from a faculty assisted research
experiment required for completion of BIOL 4415 Pathogenic Microbiology. The

the event that they are used in a hospital setting. The experiment involved the use
of the following laboratory techniques and methods: cell cultivation, isolation of
cultures via the use of selective/differential media and biochemical tests, and
