ABSTRACT
Lirik lagu Eminem Mosh merupakan lirik lagu yang berisi hujatan dan kritikan yang
diarahkan Presiden George W.Bush Jr. sewaktu melakukan kebijakan Perang Teluk
II di Irak tahun 2004. Lirik lagu yang dibuat oleh Eminem bukan semata-mata hanya
mengejek kebijakan pemerintahan Bush yang dinilai membuat citra Amerika negatif
dimata dunia, namun juga simpati Eminem terhadap para prajurit Amerika yang
gugur di medan perang yang semestinya tak perlu terjadi, serta keprihatinan Eminem
terpecah belahnya opini rakyat Amerika karena perang di Irak. Dalam paper ini saya
akan membahas unsur Intrinsik dan Ekstrinsik dari lirik lagu Mosh. Unsur Intrinsik
yang dibahas meliputi Metaphor dan Allophone dari beberapa point penting dari lirik
lagu Mosh serta unsur Ekstrinsik yang mengupas sosok Eminem dari awal karirnya
sebagai seorang rapper dan lagu Eminem yang selalu membawa tema kritik sosial.

INTRODUCTION
1.1

BACKGROUND

In mid-2003 President George W.Bush Jr. ordered a invasion to Iraq whose led by
Saddam Hussein, a dictator and criminal war. Bush suspected Saddam made an
alliance with Al-Qaeda and making mass of destruction weapon which allegedly
made the nuclear weapon and chemical weapon. Bush also stated that Iraq became
part of axis of satan countries also with North Korea and Iran due to their aggressive
of their countries policy. His command to invaded Iraq made American divided into
pro and contra to Bush policy of war in Iraq. The group of pro Bush policy of war in
Iraq agreed to attack Saddam regime to wipe out mass of destruction weapon which
became global threat, most of pro Bush policy of war was Republican supporter. In
the other hand, contra Bush policy of war which is Democrate supporter argued
invasion of Iraq would cut off all of American revenues and most of American soldiers
lost their lives due to second battlefield in Iraq beside war in Afghanistan , previously
American also made its first battefield in Afghanistan in 2001 to search and destroy
Taliban and Al-Qaeda until today.
In December of 2003, American soldiers with assistance Iraqi citizen capture
Saddam Hussein in his hometown Tikrit in a small bunker and after that Saddam
sentenced to death due to human rights violation. Even though Iraq was free from
Saddam regime not meaning the war in Iraq was over, there are so many resistance
by some local militia including rest of Saddam army in Iraq who fight against
American soldiers. The casualities of this resistance made Iraqi people fled around
the Arabian states, the American soldiers also suffered from the militia rebellion, not
only lost their lives but psychological are disrupted due to war.
Eminem is the one of American musician who fed up Bush policy which made more
catastrophic for American soldier families who lost their son or his husband died in
battlefield and made Iraqi people more deeply suffered both of Saddam regime crime
and American invasion. In Mosh lyrics, Eminem criticizing Bush and his lie about Iraq
mass of destruction weapon which as we know it was never exist. Eminem asked
American to stand up against Bush not take a revolution but asking Bush to take
American soldiers home. In his lyric, Eminem also angered with lies which created by
Bush government some of his disagreement with Bush policy is

FOCUS OF THE RESEARCH

The writer focus this research on analysis social critism of Bush policy of in Iraq in
Eminem Mosh lyrics.

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE RESEARCH

The significance of this research are:

1. Analysis the intrinsic of Mosh lyrics with Metaphor and Allophone approach.
2. Analysis the extrinsic of Eminem as a rapper and his way against Bush
bureaucracy.
