The Mine is working in single shift between 8 am to 5pm
5. OPENCAST WORKING :
Height and width of Benches: The height of the benches shall be maintained maximum of 7
meters and the width not less than 10 meters each.
A. METHOD OF WORKING:
We are deploying Hydraulic excavators with supporting units like Wheel Loader for production
and rejection handling at our Mines. We shall maintain height of the bench as 9 meters and
width not less than height.
Overall slope of the benches shall be maintained at an angle of 80degrees from the horizontal
there by giving more stability to the benches.

B. DRILLING AND BALSTING:

1.

Drilling will be carried out on ore and waste with a pneumatic wagon drill, holes are 115mm in
diameter. Holes will be drilled to depth of bench height plus sub drilling

2.

Staggered drilling pattern will be used with 3.0 to 3.5m spacing and 2.5m burden. Position of
the holes to be drilled will be distinctly marked by Foremen with the help of Blaster/Mine Mate
who makes though inspection of area.

3.

Necessary precaution to be taken to reduce vibration by using delays in between rows.

4.

The entire drilling and blasting operation including handling of explosives will be placed under
the charge of experience assistant manager possessing least Second Class Managers Certificate
of Competency.

5.

Drilling pattern, the charge and length of stemming will be so designed to minimize formation
of boulders and incidence of fly rock.

6.

A detailed record of each round of deep-hole blasting indicating burden, spacing, depth, charge
of explosive in each hole, delay and delay intervals etc., will be maintained by the person in
charge of blasting and countersigned by the manager.

7.

All the charging and blasting operations will be carried out under the supervisions of Foreman
who will be assisted by a blaster.

C. DUMP YARD FOR OB:

Over burden will be dumped 60mtrs away from the ultimate pit limit. The height if the dump
will be not more than 15 Meters from an inclination of 28 degrees from Horizontal. The
proposed dump yard is shown in the surface plan.
D. ROADS FOR TRUCKS/DUMPERS
The width of hauling roads shall be adequate for smooth operation of trucks/Dumpers, not less
than the three times of the width of dumpers playing in the workings sufficient burm will be
constructed , in order to avoid vehicles going out off the road.
E. OPERATIONS OF DIGGING MACHINES:
1. a) No person other than operator or his helper if any person so authorized in writing by the
Manager shall ride of an excavator.
b) No person shall be permitted to ride in the bucket of excavator.
c) No excavator shall be operated in a position where any part of the machine, Suspended loads or
lines are brought closer than 3meters to exposed high voltage lines, unless the current has been
cut off and the lie de-energized. A notice of this requirement shall be pasted at the operators
position.

2. a) The excavator bucket shall be pulled out of the bank soon as it is full.
b) When not in operation of the bucket shall be kept resting on the sable ground and shall be not be

5. No person shall be permitted to work on the chassis of transport vehicle with the body in a raised
position until after the body has been securely blocked in position. The mechanical hoist
mechanism, if any, alone not be depended upon to hold the body of vehicle in raised position.
6.

No unauthorised person shall be permitted to enter or remain in dumping yard or turning points.

7.

While the vehicle is being loaded /un loaded of gradient, the same shall be secured stationary by
parking brake and other means such as suitably designed stopper blocks which could be placed the
tiers.

8.

No transport vehicle other than that of the mine management is permitted to go inside the mine
working. All transportation of ore within the mine workings and up to a central dispatch point on
the surface should be by transport vehicle and personal under the direction supervision and control
of management only. The sale and distribution of the mineral should be from a central dispatch
point if such as sale is carried out from the mine itself and the setting of the central dispatch point
should be such that it does not become a source of danger to the persons employed in the mine.

G. MAINTAINCE OF DIGGING MACHINES AND TRANSPORT VEHICLE:

1.

If the engineer, mechanical foremen or other competent person making an inspection, notice any
defect in any machinery and / transport vehicle the same machine and/or transport vehicle shall
not be used until the defect has been remedied.

safe place for the person engaged on repairs.

5.

Expect for testing or adjustment which must necessarily be do0ne while the machine and/or
transport in motion, every machine and /or transport vehicle shall be shutdown and positive means
taken to prevent its operation while any repairs or manual lubrication is being done.

6.

Power shall be disconnected when repairs are made to any electric machine and /or transport
vehicle or par thereof.

7.
