History Instructional Designer, Instructional Technology Group November 2008 – present
Work with Emerson College faculty members to support their use of technology for teaching. Offer
instructional design advice and services. Highlight opportunities to use technology for teaching/learning.
Administer WebCT (CE8) Course Management System. Support and promote the use of WebCT tools,
including those for assignment submission, assessment, grading, media and discussions.
Administer systems for web conferencing, blogging, web site creation, wikis and ePortfolios.
Support the above systems and other instructional technologies by giving scheduled and on-request
training for faculty members and classes, and providing instructional design consultation and services.
Support instructional technologies by providing documentation, blog entries and screen capture videos;
this includes content creation and instructional and visual design.
Support and encourage the use of clickers, streaming video, student response systems, Web 2.0 and web-
resident applications, video digitizing and encoding, and emerging technologies.

Faculty Liaison, Center for Singapore-MIT Alliance (SMA) February 2000 – November 2008
Supported distance learning mediated by videoconferencing and web based collaborative and instructional
technologies.
Helped MIT/SMA faculty use distance education technology effectively.
Administered and supported CMS for SMA classes, working closely with system manager.
Supported technology equipped classrooms used as origination points for live distance education classes.
Prepared surveys, training, documentation, and reports, and did presentations and outreach to inform
others about SMA.
Brandeis University
Technology Coordinator, Educational Technology Services August 1998 – February 2000
Provided technical support for education technology in science departments, including support of an early
version of WebCT. Was the main provider of technical support to President's Office, and supported the
President’s home office. Managed a Windows NT network for one of the university's graduate schools.
Ithaca College
Assistant Director of Academic Computing Services 1994 – 1998
Responsible for assisting the director, especially in facilities design and management. Developed and
tracked departmental capital and operating budgets. Worked with academic departments to define and
achieve goals for technology adoption. Mentored junior staff. Led project teams.
Facilities Manager/Coordinator of Microcomputer Systems 1985 – 1994
Managed microcomputer labs and clusters, supervising a staff of about forty student lab consultants.
