Objectives
Creative individual with strong manufacturing and machining background. Varied skill set from extensive
AutoCAD and machining experience to mechanical design and technical writing. Enjoys taking an idea from
concept to delivery, an out of the box thinker and an eye for making products and processes better, faster
and more economical.

CAD Experience
Beginning with AutoCAD version 2.17b in 1984, I have used every version as they have become available
on a daily basis. With countless hours of experience, AutoCAD continues to be a valuable tool to convey my
ideas. In 2006 I began using Inventor to enhance design tasks in 3D and enjoy it immensely. Any 2D
version of AutoCAD supplementing Inventor would be my tools of choice but I have sampled Solidworks
and am confident I could adapt to other 3D CAD programs with ease. As a PC owner and daily user since
1982 I am well versed in Intel based machines and operating systems as well as a working knowledge of
networking and typical office and engineering applications.

Manufacturing Experience
I began machining as a child in my fathers shop, worked as a machinists professionally in an aerospace
environment for seven years and still have a manual lathe and mill in my garage for personal projects. This
experience allows me to design parts that are both feasible and economical to manufacture. I have worked
with many other manufacturing methods over the years including the design of investment and sand
castings, extrusions, sheet metal, injection molded plastics, stampings, fabrication, laser cutting, and short
run rapid prototyping to name a few.

Design Philosophy
Albert Einstein once said The best design is the simplest one that works. I am a strong believer in that
philosophy and not only apply it to the design process but also extend it into the manufacturing, assembly
and maintenance aspects of a product as well.
