HSU Key Points

Hydraulically powered rod reciprocating system capable of lifting
50,000 lbs.
Ability to meet wide range production window.
Leak Free design, no exposed polish rod ensures NO produced fluid
leaks.
Ultra long stroke up to 336.
Control both up and down stroke speed

HSU Key Points

Ability to operate 2 wells with one power unit, reducing capital costs
Easy Install, no site prep required. Connects directly to wellhead.
All system setting adjustments are viewable either on-site or remotely.
Several power unit and cylinder options allow the CORRECT design for
each well.

Long Stroke Advantage

 Stroke lengths up to 336.
 Reduce cyclic stress
 Minimizes rod stretch impact
 Improves gas compression ratio
 Enhances system efficiency

Long Stroke Advantage

System Configurations
The Kudu Hydraulic Stroking Unit consists of three components:
 Hydraulic Cylinder
 Cylinder/Stroke Lengths: 80, 144, 240 and 336
 Cylinder diameters: 3.5, 4 and 4.5
The option of multiple cylinder lengths and diameters allow the
system to be designed to suit a wide range of production rates
Gas Engine or Electric Power Unit
Systems available in 50 HP to 150 HP configurations
 System Control Packages
Level 1 retrofit and HSU Well Manager Level 2 and Level 3.

Basic Hydraulic Theory

The basis for all hydraulic systems is expressed by Pascal's law which states the
pressure exerted anywhere upon an enclosed liquid is transmitted undiminished, to
the interior of a container/ cylinder.

In a basic hydraulic circuit, the force exerted by a cylinder is dependent

upon the cylinder bore size and the pump pressure being applied. With
1000 psi pump pressure exerted against a 12 square inch piston area
(approximately 4" dia.), a force of 12,000 pounds is developed by the
cylinder
